It was said awhile back that former Oshkosh commit, Kaine Fort, wasn't announced with their recruiting class.  I see that he has instead decided to go to Bay College in Michigan, a division 2 Juco.

UW-Eau Claire 2023-2024 schedule is here. Non cons vs St. Norbert, vs. Saint John's, at WashU Tournament ( n Hanover, Babson/WashU), at MSOE, vs Crown, at Northland, at Wartburg, at UW-Superior, at Bethel, vs St. Olaf.

https://blugolds.com/sports/mbkb/2023-24/schedule

Their women's schedule is also up and looks like no M/W doubleheaders this year.

Use this link while you can. UW-Eau Claire Athletics will depart Presto for Sidearm next week per source. New website launches next week.

Presto quickly becoming a relic in college athletics.

I was about a week off and a week early, my apologies. Sidearm site is here now though.

Stevens Point schedule - last year's record and result vs Stevens Point.

Saturday, November 11 v Lawrence (9-16, 6-10) 6th in MWC
DNP Point last season.

Wednesday, November 15 at St. Olaf (15-12, 10-10) T-5th in MIAC
Beat Point 76-63 at Quandt. Point was up 8 at halftime and 9 with 11:39 to go. They were then outscored 32-10 to finish out the game.

Saturday, November 18 v Edgewood (7-18, 7-10) T-8th NACC
Point comes out on top 75-71 at the EdgeDome. Point trailed most of the game and made a run to pull ahead for good. They nearly blew a 6-point lead with 30 seconds to go though.

Tuesday, November 21 at WLC (19-8, 14-3) T-1st NACC
Miracle at Quandt with Buchanan hitting a 3 to win it 60-59. Point looked dead in the water, down 12 with 3:43 to go. Amazingly, WLC wouldn't score again.

Sunday, November 26 at Augustana (7-18, 5-11) 7th CCIW
DNP Point last season.

Saturday, December 2 at Superior (17-10, 10-4) 2nd UMAC
Point nearly blew another game, but survived 76-72 at home. The Pointers were up 14 at the break and 16 midway through the 2nd half. The Yellowjackets cut it to 3 with a minute to go, but Point made enough free throws to hold on.

Saturday, December 9 at Trine (22-4, 12-2) 2nd MIAA
Point grinded out a 53-49 win at home, probably making this one of the most impressive victories in the nonconference schedule. Trine suffered their only nonconference loss of the season at Point. Made more impressive when Trine went to La Crosse and knocked them off the next day, ranked at the time.

Tuesday, December 12 v North Central (MN) (17-11, 8-6) 4th UMAC
DNP Point last season.

Monday, December 18 v Calvin (22-5, 13-1) 1st MIAA
This was close to being the best result of the season. Point went into Calvin and took a 31-27 halftime lead. It was tied 50-50 with 3:20 left, but Point wouldn't score again, falling 61-50.

Tuesday, December 28 v MSOE (10-14, 6-11) 10th NACC
This may have been the worst nonconference result of the season. Point had a 6-point lead at halftime, but couldn't hit the broadside of a barn in the 2nd half, scoring just 15 points in a 73-64  loss in Milwaukee.

Saturday, December 30 v Illinois Wesleyan (12-14, 7-9) 6th CCIW
A nice road win at the IWU tournament. Point won a hard fought 71-67 win and took home the Sikma Hall of Fame Invitational trophy.

Overall, I good standard schedule. There aren't any NCAA tournament teams, however. I'm disappointed there aren't any tournament games, like the Sikma Invite last year, the Great Lakes Invite or the D3hoops Las Vegas Invite. There is the Sentry Classic, but even those games aren't back-to-back. As always, excited for the upcoming season. Hoping for big improvements this season. But, with a new coach and probably a lot of new players, it may take a few months to get things in order.

It was so brutal this year Oshkosh is doing a redo on their SID search after just one year.

https://careers.uwosh.edu/cw/en-us/job/500700/communications-specialist-athletics

With a salary of $34-46K, do they really think they are going to attract someone who is good, much less that will stay beyond using UWO as a stepping stone.  Pay a decent salary you might get a quality person with media experience that really gets it!!!  At that pay, keep on the revolving door/treadmill.

This is exactly it. Being a good SID is a lot of work and a lot of hours. Pay is way too low to get any quality.

UWO goes with prior assistant, Halverson. He does a good job, but only problem is now, he's a department of one and they still need to hire an assistant.

Former St Johns Northwestern Military Academy 6'5" F, James Kelley, has transferred to Whitewater.  Kelly should make a deep Whitewater team even deeper.  Kelley spent 2 years at Southwestern Community College where he was an All Region performer both seasons.  He then transferred to D2 Illinois Springfield and spent a season, after that season he transferred to Winona St and spent last season.  I assume he only has 1 year of eligibility at Whitewater due to the covid year.

I'm amazed with how many players there are on their 3rd, 4th, and even 5th schools!!!  The trickle down effect of the portal.

Looks like former Northern Michigan commitment, JR Lukenbill, had a change of heart and is going to Whitewater instead.  That's a big time get for the Warhawks.

Gonna be pressure for interim coach to get UWW back to NCAA Tourney this season. They are loaded!
