6'2" Marquette University G, TJ Adams, has committed to La Crosse.

I think they got a little lazy with passes and defending in the 2nd half. It shows 7 TOs in the 1st and 11 in the 2nd. I felt that before even looking at the box score last night. Obviously hard to gage against a top half of a power conference team like Wisconsin, but there were some good things I saw. I'm not an expert on analytics or whatnot, but there were flashes of potential.

I would've liked to see more of Abdul-Wahid. He started, but played only 14 minutes. I think Krohn is going to be real good. Despite being 6'8", he had his troubles with the bigger Badger front line, to no one's surprise.

Like you said Greek, definitely some flashes last night and some things to get excited about being a Pointer fan.  Butler obviously flashed massive potential in the first half.  Point started 2 freshman and the first 2 players off the bench were freshman as well, going to be some growing pains.

There is still nothing out there on Landon Van Calster?  He's a huge loss in my mind.  Size will still be the achilles heel for UWSP with this roster.  Krohn and Abdul-Wahid cannot get into foul trouble if Point is going to have much success.

I listened to UWSP-UW game on radio. First half on Point feed and second half on Madison feed. Josiah Butler certainly is the real deal. Looked smooth on some of the highlights on WSAW. Baumgartner the only other Pointer who could probably say they had a "good" game. I think I have too high of expectations for Buchanan. He probably will play a lot this year, but he's just average.

It's going to the Butler show for Point this year. Problem is he will need a supporting cast and who that'll be is anyone's guess.

Well, it's 42-22 at the half and there were times (probably?) when we were down that much to fellow D3 schools last year, so I can't complain. I have been impressed that Point has tried to go inside against the obviously bigger Badgers interior. Instead of just giving up the inside and jacking up 3s, they've tried to get the ball inside on occasion. It's basically 1 and done on possessions, but I suppose that's not surprising.

It's looks like Butler has improved and I've been impressed with Krohn.

edit: I got my Josiah's mixed up. I had Gillie in my head, who played last year, but it was definitely the freshman Josiah Butler who was outstanding.

They've also missed a good number of semi open shots, so if a few of them fall, the score looks a lot better.

Was certainly wondering if you were thinking of Point's Josiah Gillie or River Fall's Jacob Butler. Or maybe you watched a lot of Josiah Butler at FVL?

Turns out just a mix up.

I think calling Buchanan "just average" is a gross understatement.  He is a volume shooter who averaged 13 points a game last year, including a couple game winners if I remember right.  He is a top 15 player in the best D3 league in the country, not to mention he still has 2 years of eligibility remaining if you include this year.

As most shooters do, he can struggle against length and athleticism...which I would think Wisconsin has the most of both that UWSP will face this entire year.  I'm certainly glad that Buchanan is a Pointer and expect him to get some WIAC recognition at the end of this year.

I like Buchanan too. He's willing to shoot. Last night was just a matter of height and length, obviously something we won't see as much of in D3. He's 6'0" and the Badgers had guys 6'4" and bigger...one guy 6'2", I believe. He's a veteran guy who will be on the floor a lot, think. I think the young guys are going to be real good and I'm excited for that. Krohn, Butler, Miron, Baumgartner. And throw in Buchanan, Makinen and Coleman to name a few...solid nucleus.

Coach Dernbach just mentioned on the Radio Show that they have 4 players injured at the moment, and he expected 3 of those 4 to be in the rotation.  That's tough news to hear.
