Agreed tomt, seems like not a lot of commits yet across the board.

North Polk(IA) 6'1" G, Reggie Postel, has committed to River Falls.  This is the first commitment for River Falls that I have come across this recruiting season.

BadgerWarhawk,

Any insight as to those applying for the Whitewater coaching job?  Will coach Wichser be back or are they looking for someone new?

Greek Tragedy

So, I finally listened to Coach Dernbach's radio interview, I believe the last of this season, back on March 4. He was talking about the schedule and claimed it was finished. However, "when you win a few games" sometimes teams back out, so the schedule isn't complete yet.

Something that was noted is a tournament in North Carolina the weekend before Christmas where participating teams will include "a team that has won a National Championship in the last 5 years, a team that has won a National Championship in the last 3 years, a team that has played in the National Title game in the last two years and the Pointers..." Coach Dernbach is claiming it's going to be the best D3 tournament in the country in a really long time.

Two years ago Elmhurst played in a Jay Bilas sponsored tournament in NC the weekend before Christmas - it was largely coaches that've helped run the Jay Bilas camps there.  I wouldn't be surprised to see Elmhurst, RMC, and NWU there alongside UWSP - but I'm entirely speculating.  Merkel and Wellman used to work together, so that would fit all the criteria Dernbach mentioned above.

That was my line of thinking when I was looking at the past Final Fours. I suppose Swat and Mount Union would be the other options, but it seems you have more insight on the connections than I do. I hope Elmhurst and Point don't play each other because they can do that anytime a lot closer to home.

I remember in a previous interview that Point will also be hosting a 4-teamer the weekend before Thanksgiving. I'll be interested to see who comes to Point as that's the same weekend as the GLI. Pretty tough to pass up 8 games in 2 days, so they'll have to be some premiere teams coming to Quandt that weekend for me to pass up a weekend in Grand Rapids.

Last time the Bilas was a straight tourney, so it was winners vs winners - they can always change that if they want specific matchups, I guess.

Diener resigns at D2 Rockhurst, will Whitewater or Eau Claire go after him?

Region9Fan

Does anyone know what direction Eau Claire is going? Or heard any names? I heard UWW will retain Wichser, leaving only Eau Claire to fill a job.

I could very well be in the minority here...and it is certainly what I expected to happen heading into this season.  But, if I was a Whitewater fan, I wouldn't be thrilled with keeping Wichser on long term.  Like I said, it's what I expected to happen heading into this season, but what did he do that warrants keeping the job for one of the premier D3 jobs in the country?

He returned almost the entire roster off a Final 4 team, preseason number 2 in the country(could be wrong there going off memory).  He didn't even get a home conference tourney game and didn't make the National Tourney.  I don't think anyone expected that.  Like I said, I could be in the minority.  He just wasn't impressive with what he returned.
