Former 6'6" New Richmond and Northern Michigan transfer F, CJ Campbell, has committed to La Crosse.

He's very talented on offense and very lazy on defense, not to mention he may have led the state of Wisconsin in technical fouls as a senior at New Richmond.

6'7" Castle View High School(CO) F, Vitorio Dante, has committed to Oshkosh.

Any scouting reporting from Colorado? Interesting to go from Colorado to Oshkosh.

6'1" Dakota County Technical College G, Jeremy Wanguhu, has committed to River Falls.  Wanguhu played at Bloomington Jefferson(MN) as a prep.

6'11" Neenah C, Ethan Hoelzel, has committed to Stevens Point.  Hopefully Ethan develops and gives Point some more much needed size.

Doesn't say it exactly, but it seems like there is a solid chance Josiah Gillie concentrates on his music instead of continuing to play basketball at UWSP.

Former Platteville G, Gavin Ralph, is transferring to River Falls.

Pearson is back to Platteville for his last year, obviously great for the WIAC but a weird decision.

I assumed he was looking to bump up in competition and get a scholarship, he was offered one to Green Bay.  He's now entered the portal 2 years in a row to go back to Platteville both times, what are you looking for?

Maybe the allure of coming back to a winning, familiar atmosphere was more attractive than playing for a below average mid-major. He has a chance for another WIAC title and, more importantly, a Naty. Of course, personal accolades like another COTY, All-American status and maybe, just maybe, D3hoops National Player of the Year? Sometimes D1 isn't better than the D3 experience.

I certainly agree with all this....but if this was his draw to going back to Platteville, why enter the portal twice?  That's what is weird to me.

Perhaps just to test the waters? Maybe he has a specific goal in mind (maybe for a certain Big 10 team but too far away?) - but when that call didn't come, he stayed in familiar confines?

I haven't watched the Q-Cast episode he was on and I believe that was before he entered the portal - has anyone else? Any insights from that?

I believe he would be a grad transfer next season- perhaps the graduate degrees available at the schools he got looks at didn't offer what he wanted in a grad degree.

Leverage and options.  We all know the WIAC is dabbling if not diving right into NIL waters.  Entering the portal gives a d3 athlete tons of leverage with no downside.  In D1 you give up your rights to a scholarship, in D3, it's just whether you burn your bridges or not - and almost no one blames guys for it.

I think we'll see top players with eligibility remaining do this every year going forward - at least until there's a downside to it.
