Any update on the Point scrimmage? I've heard NMU is pretty good this year.

Miles Barnstable led St. Thomas with 16 points on 6-10 shooting in a 96-71 win over Northwestern (Minn.).

St. Thomas at Green Bay on Friday should be a good game.

Also should mention Brody Fox with 18 points yesterday to lead The Citadel in a nine point loss at Boston College.

Point's roster is up.

Brandon Tilley, Jackson Sims and Nick Fox are announced recruits not on the roster.  Fox had knee surgery and is obviously out for the season.

Something odd...you look at West Florida and Madison College's rosters when Keith Hoffman was there, and they list him at 6'8."  Point lists him at 6'5," big difference there.

6'1" Shakopee(MN) G, Eli Schroeder, has committed to play hoops at La Crosse.

He's shrinking as he ages. Happens to most of us.

Who won the NM scrimmage?

Don't know if anyone actually "wins" a scrimmage. Both 20 minute periods were close as the coaches were likely less concerned about the score as the play on the floor.  Point ended with a slight score advantage in both 20 minute periods but again, I don't know that would have been a goal of the scrimmage. A third period was played with players "further down the bench" - NM "won" that period by a bit as I recall. It was highly competitive. Both teams have some very nice players. Certainly reason for optimism - first game this Sunday when the season starts "for real"! Looking forward to seeing some nice crowds in the Quandt this season.

6'3" Amery G, Carter Wollan, has committed to La Crosse.  This is a big one for the Eagles.

Logan Pearson had 35 in the second half and hit a shot at the buzzer.... Platteville somehow survives against Calvin!

82-81

Pearson missed 2 FTs, down 1 with 3.0 seconds left... eerily similar to how Platteville lost in the Elite 8 to Trine last season. Got the rebound and his shot fell after banging around the rim for what seemed like an eternity.
