Eagles move up 4 spots to 6th in the poll. At 4th ranked Platteville Wednesday.

Quote from: PauldingLightUP on January 30, 2025, 09:43:51 PMVery ominous to quit on your teammates with six regular season games to go. Barker very quietly in my opinion got to 1000 points at the end of the Warhawks game against Eau Claire on the 18th.

It is my understanding that Jameer did not quit, he was cut. I don't know why he was cut, but in fairness to him I thought it important to let people know he did not quit on his team.

Thank you for the report, my apologies for assuming.

Going to be a snowy drive home for some after Wednesday games, but should get games in.

Starting to wonder about disruptions this Saturday with heavy snow expected. Somewhat feels similar to January 13, 2024 when a few games got moved. Oshkosh-River Falls matchups the same, Stout-Whitewater just swap locations, and home games for Eau Claire and Platteville men just swap opponents.

Greek Tragedy

Huge game for the Pointers tonight. Definitely need to get a win at home against River Falls. We survived a buzzer-beating 3 up there, so we'll have to be at our best tonight. Point is sitting at Pool C 21, so no margin for error. If we win, we won't get any bonus points for the win with River Falls under the 53.00 NPI threshold. After tonight, the Pointers finish with 4 of their last 5 conference games on the road. A tough ending to the regular season if they want to secure a Pool C bid.

Seems Eau Claire, Oshkosh and Point will eliminate each other unless they nearly win out.

Blugold win on the road at Stout tonight. Eau Claire didn't lead until late in the game in what was an uphill battle all game long. Down by as much as 13 in the first half that was cut to 7 at half. Tied it up at just under 6 minutes into the game and took their first lead shortly after. Back and forth the final 5 minutes until a Lichtsinn 3 with 12 seconds left gave the Blugolds the lead at 80-79 which would prove to be the final score. Big shots hit by both teams throughout, in what was a very entertaining game to watch.

Renta lead the way with 28 for the Blugolds, while Walczak lead the Blue Devis with 25, which included 5-9 from 3.

Platteville wins the battle of the 1st place teams with a 83-73 over La Crosse. In front of crowded Williams Field House. Game was tied at 33 at halftime. Max Love led Platteville with 20 points. Platteville's depth has been an important factor in their success they consistently use a 8 or 9 rotation and has fresh players in the later part of their games. Platteville hosts Stevens Point Saturday.

No foul on that Stout end of game drive?  Clock issues. Hard to tell from a stream but lots of questions after watching that on WIAC Network.

Probably could have called it as they had called much less contact fouls early in the game, but probably one of those "end of game swallow the whistle" type of scenarios. I think the got the clock right in regards to when it went out of bounds after the first inbound attempt. Blugolds had more FT attempts, but Stout did themselves no favors by going 56% from the line on 9-16 for the game. The announcers even made comments on that a few times in the second half down the stretch.

Point grinded out a 62-53 win over River Falls last night. We'll get blown out in Platteville if we play like that this weekend. Point shot 7-13 from 3 in the 1st half, but also shot 3-15 inside the arc. Ugh. Somehow Point led 30-29 at halftime. Point improved, shooting-wise, after the break and only attempted three 3s. They were only 10-16 from the line, but the Falcons were just 9-18.
Only 2 players in double figures for the Dawgs, Butler with 23, Seth Miron with 10. Not much ball movement, assisting on only 8 of 21 made FGs, while the visitors 12 of 18. Point won the TO battle, 9 to 16 and the rebound battle 34-31.
