Platteville wins at WW 78-62 to clinch the #1 Seed in the WIAC Tournament. Miles Hettinger came off the bench to lead Platteville with 17 points. Hettinger and Furheman were a big problem for WW all night both in scoring and rebounding.  Ben Probst became Platteville's all time leader in 3 point baskets. Platteville finishes its regular season Saturday when it hosts RF.

Well a three way tie at 4-10 between Whitewater, Stout, and Oshkosh would work like this I'm pretty sure. All would be 1-1 against each other. Then goes to best wins. Whitewater beat Platteville, so they would be 5, and Oshkosh beat Point, so they would be 6.

Similar with a four way tie at 4-10, since Stout beat River Falls twice Falcons would eliminated right away.

Three way tie at 4-10 for two spots between Whitewater, Stout, and River Falls would have River Falls the 5, Whitewater the 6, and Stout out. Again, River Falls 2-0 against Stout and Whitewater win at Platteville the tiebreakers.

Three way tie at 4-10 for one spot between Oshkosh, River Falls, and Stout would be Stout the 6 and Oshkosh and River Falls out. Stout 4-0 H2H.

Two way tie at 4-10 for one spot between Stout and Oshkosh would be give Oshkosh the 6 due to the Point win.

So what's scenario is most likely? Obviously Stout at Oshkosh Saturday. I might go to that game, only an hour or so away and meaningful.

I have yet to watch the Point or Eau Claire games from last night, the USDA has a big push on for bird flu testing and I've been a little busy. I'd like Point to be a tourney player but I can't see a way there, frankly.

You'd have to say the most likely scenario is Whitewater and River Falls losing early at 5pm on the road to Eau Claire and Platteville respectively.

Then, it sets up a winner makes the tournament, loser season ends at 7pm between Oshkosh and Stout.

I hear UW-Green Bay has planned a scout at the UW-LaCrosse game Saturday. Interesting.

Stout's Fox and WW's Barnstable both transfer portaled to small D1 schools. Platteville's Logan Pearson was offered a full ride to UWGB but chose to stay at Platteville. I hope the WIAC doesn't become a farm system for D1 programs.

He chose wisely. Platteville is relevant. UWGB is a laughing stock. UWGB averages 2,100 in a 10,000 seat facility. Platteville averages 800 that seats 1,800.

Student census matters. When in doubt, go to Stout.  Fashion design majors can keep you warm at night.

Greek Tragedy

After last night's results, Point actually moved up from 44 to 42 and Pool C 21 to Pool C 20. None of that matters, of course, if they don't win today.

Low confidence in the Pointers today. Not enough defense to stop LaCrosse.  Dad says he'll cover the chicken oversight so I can go to Oshkosh to watch the Stout/Oshkosh game. Winner likely gets Eau Claire on Monday in the WIAC tourney. Anyone know a good place to hang pre-game in Oshkosh?

I've given up on the Lady Dawgs for 2024/25. Thought there was great potential for them, but no.

Why do you say that? They were picked last in the preseason poll. Today's NPI has them with a better chance of making the NCAA tournament than the men. And...they just knocked off La Crosse. They clinched 4th.

Well, barring a miracle comeback tonight or a unlikely run through the WIAC conference tournament, there won't be any March Madness for Point this season.

Platteville and La Crosse look really good and hope they'll represent the conference well with a deep run in the NCAAs.

Platteville and Whitewater with the big early wins.

Whitewater will be the 5 seed and play at Point on Monday.

Stout at Oshkosh for the 6 seed about to start. Winner to Eau Claire.

'95 Blugold

Didn't get a chance to watch the Blugolds tonight, but my box score observation tells me they died by the 3 point shot tonight as they only went 4-25 on the night including 1-11 in the first half when Whitewater opened up a 14 point half time lead. Hopefully they can make a nice run in the WIAC tournament.
