Got it.  I'm in on it, anticipating a lot of phone calls this morning.

Stupid ticket office, opens at 9:30 a.m.

Good luck

I thought I would sneak over from the MIAA board to check out the word on UW-L while we're in the midst of all-out Hope-Calvin war. You're invited to visit the currently hopping MIAA board to take part. Hopefully you folks on the other side of the lake don't think we are slighting UW-L and jumping to the conclusion that Calvin will definitely be playing on Saturday, it's just that even the potential for another Hope-Calvin tilt gets a lot of blood pressure levels up.

Will we be getting to see a large Wisconsin contingent this weekend? Those coming really will enjoy the new gym arena (please, this is no high school gym  ;)) as it really is impressive, though I'm sure even more seats would have been useful for this weekend. And yes, if you'd like to build your own, it requires mucho private funds, though most of those came from just one taxpayer over here, wanna buy some Amway?

Anyway, with a full week of waiting and no games, I think the boards are going to blow up before one of these games in Holland actually gets played. Hopefully we will see a bunch of UW people this weekend and should you choose to dispatch Calvin early on Friday, well the Hope faithful can always deal with seeing Calvin lose.

Summary of the current state over in the MIAA:

I love it. It's only Monday night, and already mortars are flying back and forth between the siege lines in Holland and Grand Rapids. A recon team of highly-trained Hope cheerleaders is repulsed, only to see a counterattack of water-walking acolytes from the House of Veld vaporized in a sudden incendiary burst, leaving behind only fragments of maroon-and-gold panties.

I wonder if the UW-LaCrosse and Wisconsin Lutheran people are aware that they're wandering straight into the line of fire? With the skirmishes heating up and all-out conflict just over the horizon, woe to the cheeseheads who heedlessly cross the battlefield in Netherlands-By-The-Lake.

World War Four. It's supersweet!

With my Whitewater regional tickets secured (at least that's what they tell me!), I'm looking forward to seeing the games, as well as badgerwarhawk again...the question is, will I be able to meet voice and stormy???

No offense to any Ill. Wes. fans, but I hope they didn't get through and order tickets (and take them all), there wasn't even a limit on the amount of tickets I could buy...so, I guess they could have ordered 500!  ;D  I didn't have the money to order that many though!  :P

By the way, this is how Whitewater's opponent got into the tourney!  Good stuff.

I'd just like to comment on how nice it is to be debating whether the 3rd or 4th place WIAC team deserved an NCAA bid.

It sure beats debating whether the regular season WIAC Champion deserves a bid.

Amen.

I think it would be quite an upset, at least in the Calvin's fans' eyes if the 5th place WIAC team won on Friday...

This was the #1 play of the night on SportsCenter last night.  Even though it happened a day before.  Pretty amazing!

DePauw did play Trinity TX and even DI Northwestern in December (lost both games, lost 69-36 to NW) and that game was played in Chi-town.  No player scored in double figures.  I guess you could compare that loss to WW loss vs. Marquette in the exhibition game, but we fared a little bit better although it was an exhibition and this was an actual game against a lower tier big-ten team.

Looking forward to the game.  Should be a fantastic weekend.  Productivity in the office is officially around the same amount as the regular DI tourney.

OS, I would be happy to introduce you to both Voice and Stormy, though why anyone would want to meet Stormy is beyond me. ;)

OS-I emailed and said that I was going to go ahead and pick up the tickets for Friday.  I got called at 3 from the ticket office and said that I was snagging one of yours and that it was all right to get them.

Unless I get shot, they should be safe.  :)

Thanks very much for doing that, glad that one of us got through.  The game plan worked to perfection.

For those interested, the Stout men's game will be on air at 5:40 Friday on WMEQ 880 Sports Radio.  Internet connection, just hit Blue Devil Bob's post and click on "listen live" or WMEQ.com.  Jason Kenyon and I will also be doing our Western Wisconsin Sports Saturday live from the Augustana College  Field House from 8-10 on Sat. morning.  Tenative guests are the head coaches from Stout, Carleton College, Buena Vista, and Augustana as well as Jack Bennett, Eric Page from the EC Leader/Telegram and Pat Coleman.

I may check out the MIAA board later tonight.  I'll try to keep the flaming to a minimum!  ::)

I hope to see Brian tonight and talk him into going.  I have heard that he is reluctant.  Anyone here is welcome to call him a wimp!   ;D

Either way, I'm going.

So...you DID pick them up then?  OK.  So, when they called you back at 3 pm, did they still have tickets left?  Jack Bennett got tickets through a "source," apparently cooler than me, but that's all good.

Does reluctant atually mean wife and kids or whatever?  Yeah Brian, YOU'RE A WIMP! lol.  How many times you gonna be able to go to a La Crosse NCAA tourney game?  Well, hopefully more in the future, I guess!  Over in the LMC page, someone posted a picture of the crowd and floor...pretty sweet looking.

Looks like a pretty good lineup, I'll have to get up and listen to it hopefully.  I missed the weekend when Rich Melzer was on...in the car heading to Madison.  How's he doing?
