Greek Tragedy

We can drop the Rosenfelt argument at any time.  My last comment on this page was tongue-in-cheek, hence the  ;) after that part of the post.  I already conceded on the Top 25 board! lol.  No big deal guys.  :P

I don't know how many we will have at Calvin.  Brian and I didn't go.

I agree that the absence of St. Thomas's best player must be considered in evaluating the win.  OTOH, I doubt if St. Thomas is a worse team than Carleton or Loras without him, if their ranking is legitimate.  Thus, it is a puzzling win to me.

Greek Tragedy

I'm just doing some homework on Christmas day for the upcoming Pointer game in Marquette, Michigan vs. Northern Michigan.

Northern Michigan really only plays 6 players, with the others easily logging less than 10 minutes.  In some cases, against tough conference foes, four of the starters logged around that 37-40 minute mark!  Wow.  Kaiser starts, but only logs around 15 minutes, while Kazmierkoski comes in and get the majority of those minutes.

Anyway...
Possible matchups
Suardini v Hicklin
Warner v El-Amin/Moses
Washington v Beamish
Kaiser/Kazmierkoski v Rortvedt/Jackson
Volcy v Krull

I don't think they have just one oustanding player. However, they have only one first team All-American and if he's absent then it deserves to be noted.

Dually noted. La Crosse has no All-American's and only one third team All-Regional player. A wins-a-win only made better by a road win over the #4 D3 team in the country and makes it 3 wins over top 25 teams this season, all on the road... if I'm not mistaken.

Wow, I got docked a karma point for stating the obvious.  I hope it came from a MIAC'er... better yet, I hope it came from a Tommie supporter.  We all know the game would have been altered if Rosefelt played, but he didn't. Get over it.

Dito, accept this one is free after I pay for my internet fee! In some ways negative Karma is good. but all I want for Christmas is 2 positive Karma, my front teeth are fine! God Bless and Happy New Year!

Mr. Downtown

I hope people aren't getting sour over this whole St.Thomas loss still.

One also has to remember that the week before, La Crosse went down to the wire with Stevens Point, a top 5 team. They've shown they can compete with some of the best teams in the nation. (You hear that voters! More WIAC teams in the top 25!)

Anywhoo, somebody track down Cubs. He's need in the WIAC fantasy league.

Any holiday tournament games going on with the rest of the WIAC schools? Also, what is Stevens Point trying to do to make up for the snowed out games?

Greek Tragedy

As far as I know, they only have one snowed out game, Regis College.  I'm planning on driving up with Swampgoon to Michigan (apparently both of us are REALLY bored and can't find anything better to do that sit in the car for 10 hours).  Not sure if anything can be done.  I know the MWC schools can only have something like 22 or 23 games on their schedules, so they are already booked, presumably.  I thought about MSOE since they are an independent, but they already have a 25 game schedule.  Believe me, I've been looking for schools! :P

Mr. Downtown

Would you agree with me in the end, Old School, that it probably won't matter if Point has only played 24 games, compared to the rest of the WIAC and most of the nation with 25? They've already beat the best teams in Wisconsin, which is pretty good sign that as a team they will be ranked pretty high in the regional rankings.

How about Elmhurst? Perhaps someone in the WIAC can take revenge on them knocking off Oshkosh and Whitewater.
