It just went final:  UW-Oshkosh won, 123-105.

UPDATE: Very good postings guys. Goose Gossans is day to day with his injury. I think it will be a close game against UWSuperior Saturday if he does not play. BO know BB. He is 1 as to all time coachs in WIAC. It was a shame Ken Anderson never won a championship of a National Type. Blessings!

first_timer--I've lost track of Melzer. I went on line last nite to see if he had returned to the D League team of the Spurs, but he was not listed. He played 6 games as a substitute for an injured starter in Lyon, France, but then disappeared.

Entertaining game tonight.  boxscore.

I've seen them play before, so it was no big deal for me.  Festive crowd at Kolf tonight...wish they were like that during conference play.

Nice to meet Mr. DT and Titansrus and got a nice surprise talking to another Oshkosh fan (and d3hoops lurker), Tim, and his brother (I already forgot his name, surprise-surprise)...

Oshdude, looked around for you...you should've come down...I can talk to more than one person at a time. lol  ;)

Roop,

You there?  I came in about 5-7 minutes early...

So, is Nick Messner the new guy Superior got at the semester?  He's played and started two games, averaging 28 minutes a game.  In his two games, he's averaging 5.5 a game, has 4 ast, 4 TOs, 5 blks and 3 steals.

As Brian Carroll said, an impressive half for UWL.

Sounds like a real track meet in Oshkosh!  Congrats to the Titans on surviving!

Quick question for stoutguy and BDB,

What's up with Stout?  I'm not saying the Nonemachers are world beaters, but when you start two seven-footers, I'd think that would cause headaches for the opposition, yet they only score 11 points in the first half (though they came back a little vs. La Crosse)...quite honestly, that scares me going into tomorrow's game.  I would think they would be more successful with a lineup like that, and then adding Heisler as well...(based on his numbers, looks pretty solid).  Then, you also have Enerson-Matthews and Clopton.  Just curious.  I have yet to see them play this year.

Hey Old School. What's up with Stout is a work in progress. With so many new players they are still figuring out the situation, but there's a lot of talent there.

You guys figured out Enerson-Matthews as being a quality player pretty quickly.  ;)

Anyway, one take on the game this Saturday has to do with the Point/Superior score.

Any team that wins by 56 points and scores over 100 isn't walking the ball up the court I am thinking. Running it up a little, Pointers?  ???

The Blue Devils saw that and it's an edge they will take into the game, for whatever that's worth.

The stat that popped out at me after looking at the UWO/Grinnell boxscore, was that starting PG Chad Doedens had 6 assists, while committing 0 turnovers for the Titans.  It seems that he is really playing well as of late, and to not turn the ball over all night (in 17 minutes) against the Pioneer's constant full court pressure is pretty impressive. :o

The Pointers have played up tempo all season long so scoring 101 isn't that far from their season average of over 80 per game. They used their motion offense to wind the shot clock down to the 15 second mark on most possessions, but sometimes you just have to take that wide open jumper or layup when the defense offers! Superior played terrible offense as evidenced by the 21 points the Pointers scored after turnovers and there were only 2 fast break points so it definitely was not running up the score (the bench scored 41).

I take it that Jake Nonemacher's injury was not as serious as first feared.   Judging solely by the box score numbers it looks like he had a decent game last night.  Eddie has to be breathing a sigh of relief over that.

Thanks for the clarification frodotwo. +k.

The Blue Devils will hang on to that running the score up bit anyway just for fun.  ;)

badgerwarhawk, +k to get you off of 69.  :D
