Final:  WW 99, RF 86. Davis, probably the Falcons' best player, out early in o.t. with what sounded like a serious knee injury.

buf - you want to tackle the UWO-UWEC men's game here, or should I? ;)

I might bail out on commenting on this one, since I wasn't there to see it. Ha.

How about that Superior upset? Heard the Pioneers had three starters missing, but a W is a W...

Did you go to the game DR?  I checked the score right before halftime and left and listened a little in the second half.  Missed the end of the game. (I hate working out Saturdays, but new year's killed me).

Malachnik had 22 points and really the free throws were key because RF was getting us in the bonus early.  I haven't seen the box score yet.  Perry chips in w/ like 18 points i think.  Price had 17 I think, he is really establishing himself as a legit starter and should he play next year, should be in position to be a all conference, if not this year already.

I missed the technical, but give RF credit, they are young and should get some wins here.  I still can't believe that UWSP is #1, the deserve it but we are a few free throws away from 3 or 4 more wins here.  Hopefully our luck and winning will continue, good win today.

Not much to say.  UWO got up early and just kept extending the lead.  About the only sign of life from EC was a brief run at the beginning of the 2nd half, to get the deficit down to 20.  I think UWO had a lead as big as 33.

Things don't get much easier when #1 ranked Point comes to Zorn on Wednesday.  The only way I see EC winning this game is if they are able to dominate the interior and hope Point goes cold from the outside.

OshDude

Does anyone know if Josh Langenfeld from UWP is going to play at all this season?
The Oshkosh D was awesome again today. Would have been nice if EC could have hit the bunnies it had to make the game interesting. Not going to win too many games when you score 21 in the first half. Wesener was back to last year's form and Seckar-Anderson and Ryan Johnsen were solid as well. Titans have a nice nine- or 10-man rotation going. Ten in a row and counting...I'm a believer.
After the ugly UWO/EC game, I treated myself to an even uglier game at Ripon, where LU looked horrible. That's as poorly I've seen the Vikings play in my dozen years of following the team. They had 13 points and 17 turnovers at the break. Didn't get much better in the second. Just brutal basketball.

Wow.  Superior upset Platteville?

Way to pick 'em, OS!  ;D

4ever--no, I listened to the game in RF. What a gift the Falcons gave WW! The final was 91-86, not 99-86, as I posted earlier.

Pointers are on a roll and looked unbeatable tonight at Stout. Their play forced Stout to abandon their big men offense after the first half and try to get back in it by matching the Pointers speed with a smaller lineup. Didn't work at all as I think as close as they got was 16 before Point blew it open. The end of the bench was in the game for the last 4+ minutes. A very impressive "W" on the road. Point and Oshkosh are playing at their best right now and are on a collision course for January 14.

I listened to the RF/WW game on the Warhawk website and it was confusing as to why the technical was given. I have a hard time believing they would issue a technical for being out of the box with 0.4 seconds left in regulation unless it was pretty major. Badgerwarhawk can you verify what happened?

Greek Tragedy

Point puts the smack down on an overmatched Stout tonight.  The Dawgs are really looking good.  The twin towers were no match for Point.  Even if Jacob was a full strength, Point did a great job of defending.  Jacob limped out later in the second half and didn't return, I believe.  Stout went to a smaller lineup and made a little difference, but it definitely wasn't enough with Point's superior passing, defense and shooting in obvious view.  I think Stout will be good in a year or two because they have a lot of young guys on their team.  Their guard play is suspect with a lot of needless turnovers.

Boxscore

Frodotwo,
If you're in attendence, it'd be nice to meet you.  Isn't Rico a Stout fan?  I finally met BlueDevilBob and his son and also talked to Stoutguy, Jack Bennett and introduced myself to Bob Semling finally...if you know anything about Semling's pregame preparation, he hides out!

3 guys in double-figures for Point with El-Amin chipping in with 9 points, SIX assists and only 1 turnover, along with 3 steals.  I should've drafted him!  Wotachek and Krautkramer getting some solid, effective minutes.

Apparently the coach went onto the floor after the ball had been put into play.  It was very confusing and a tough break for them.

Swampgoon does in fact exist. He is not an imaginary friend of Old School.  :D

And, he looks just like one on the Anderson bothers in his CHIEFS hockey jersey. Fabulous.

OS, Rico21 was MIA due to his daughters basketball game.

Free throws were really a factor in last night's game with RF.  RF shot 61% from the floor and made more baskets including one extra three pointer.  But WW was 24-28 from the free throw line and RF only 10-14.  Mlachnik went 7-8 in the last minute and in the overtime finishing with a game high 21 points.  Price and Anderson hit huge three pointers.  The WARHAWKS pulled down 16 offensive rebounds and only turned it over 7 times.

bw--Robertson, good as he is as a freshman, gets to the line more than anyone else, but shoots only about 50% from there. Had he been a better free thrower, we would have won both the overtime games this season. On the other hand, he made 8/9 f.g. attempts, and last time I looked was either leading or close to it on f.g. percentage in the league.
