Obviously, Point isn't overlooking tonight's trip to Eau Claire, the trip down to Platteville and the other conference games remaining, but the first three I mentioned stand out.

I hope they don't overlook anyone.  Even though I know the Pioneers just lost to Superior, the Pointers have lost the last 3 years in P-vegas!

Pioneerhoops, positive karma from the SF! The summary on the PV vs Superior game was excellent, so I will not repeat. If UWS had not done so many dumb hand check fouls, and made so many first half turnovers, we would have lost by 10 or more. I too was impressed with UWS as to improving.Italked to James Nobles, who said he is 6'5" after the game. he is a nice guy, who went to HS at Rufus King. He said his HS coach would have been sick over the first half play. I think it was the legendary coach Goez. I think UWS is very strong in the post, with
Messner and Proue being improved. Cobb is still rounding into shape, but still dominant. It was a heartbreaking loss. but hail to the Yellow jackets. We need to get another big body into the lineup and Get the Goose back.  Thank you and God Bless!

Point caught Oshkosh at a good time.

And the game @ La Crosse will interesting.

However, I think the question is about tonight's HUGE game!

The coaches for Oshkosh have been talking about revenge. "Remember when Conigliaro did this?" "Remember when Conigliaro flopped!" (ok, I made the last one up).

Oshkosh is looking for revenge tomorrow night, and the way they've been playing has to be a scary thought for La Crosse.

I agree but I will always wonder why TVD allowed that to happen.  He had to know that going into this season SP would be one of the big guys.  Why he would go into that game without playing more nonconference games when Point had already played I think 4 just does not make any sense.  Maybe long, lost poster Titan2000 had it right.  Maybe your guy just likes to deer hunt too much.  Having said that, I think Oshkosh just might be the best team in the conference right now.  Sounds strange since we just got thumped by the #1 team in the nation.  I just agree with the poster earlier who talked about the tremendous Point shooting.  All good things must come to an end sometime.  Oshkosh has more weapons inside and outside.

Exactly. It's not a joke, folks. It's the simple truth.

QuoteI think Oshkosh just might be the best team in the conference right now

What I like about Point and Oshkosh is both team's depth. The bench play for both teams has been great, and like I mentioned before, Oshkosh right now has 6 guys on any given night that can score in double digits. How do you stop that? Capelle one night could score 8 points, the next night he puts up 23. Gibson has been very consistent offensively, and doing a much better job rebounding.

To put it simply, Oshkosh has hit its stride. I mean, the stride we have been looking for these past couple of years. The team that would make it to the dance and compete for a National Championship.

In the last 6 games, take a look at the scoring numbers outside of Gibson and Capelle

Jordan Johnson: 58 points, 9.6 ppg
DJ Marsh;            63 points, 10.5 ppg
Dane Seckar-Anderson: 52 points (all coming off the bench), 8.6 ppg
Chad Doedens: 58 points, 9.6 ppg

During that same stretch

Jim Capelle: 94 points, 15.6ppg
Kerry Gibson:83 points, 13.8ppg

No one, and I do mean no one, in these last 6 games has been able to slow them down.

To be honest, I don't think La Crosse can.

Stoutguy or Blue Devil Bob-
Any update on the Jacob Nonemacher injury situation??

Cubs, Jake will play. Although he will probably be tweaking his injury at different times during the season like he did against Point.

I was just on the WIAC page looking at tomorrow's broadcasted games and noticed that some games will be videocast by I-FAN.  From looking at the I-FAN schedule, it looks like this company will be broadcasting high school and college sports in Northwest Wisconsin.

BDB,stoutguy--You'll not be surprised that I'd just love to buy, buy, buy brewskie after brewskie following the game, but I know stoutguy will  continue his years old practice of leaving town right after the game on the bus with his broadcasting partner, and BDB will attend a hockey game elsewhere. And I won't be there either, as I "volunteered" to be host to my wife's choir party. What a way to spend an evening when the Falcons are playing home! However, I will be listening, and should you guys actually be available post game, we could tip 'em back at Luigi's--after the choir party participants stagger on home, that is.

Get real guys.........  Other teams have to be willing to schedule you at the same time.

Look at 2005 for example, UWO had 4 non-conference games in before their first conference game.  The conference season just so happened to start on the same date as this years conference opener (November 29th vs 30th.)

You could look at previous years (before the onset of the Conference Tournament) and get varying numbers:
1999- Two NC Games (Before Conference Opener)
2000- Three NC Games
2001- Five NC Games
2002- Four NC Games
2003- Four NC Games
2004- Three NC Games
2005- Four NC Games
2006- Two NC Games
2007- One NC Game

According to some of you, TVD must not have hunted in most of those years since he had 3-5 NC games before the start on conference play.  Where do these numbers compare to other temas in the conference?

As you can see, 2007 was not the "norm" for the UWO NC schedule.  It just happened to work out that way this year.  To me it is just a "quirk" in the scheduling. :-\

The Stout VS Point game is not on FSN (Eau Claire) in my area.  Anyone else who's not getting it?  My TV Guide says it is supposed to be on, but some other shows have been on.  Some on these WIAC tape delayed games I get and others I don't.  ???

Good win for the Badgers, but too close there at the end.

Buf - I've given up on FSN until the Brewers are on again. At least we get one Wisconsin team on that channel...

Buttheads there still consider this a Minnesota market, so we get the TWolves, not the Bucks, and the Wild, plus the Gophers hockey (not the Badgers). And, for good measure, we get a few Minnesota high school hoops games thrown in, too.

Darn it. Buf - did they have the classic Brewer game on tonight? Nieves' no hitter? I didn't even bother to check, because I don't think they showed the other games they had on previously.

As far as the TV schedule, the update in the newspaper never seems to have the shows for certain channels correct. They are consistently wrong on TVLand, for example. Not sure who it is that supplies that schedule, but I blame it all on the wonderful people at Charter, make them the scapegoat, because they didn't want us to see the Packer/Viking game.

Which brings us full circle to your FSN comment = We in EC are considered a Minneapolis market for everything but the Brewers, it seems, but are mostly Packer fans here, right? And yet we didn't get local coverage of that Packer/Viking game because we are too far from Green Bay, and the Minneapolis channel that probably had the game on that night isn't available in EC. Go figure. Whatever.

Anyway, back to hoops - Big game in La Crosse tomorrow. #10 Titans vs. #20 Eagles. The TV 8 announcer made it a point to encourage fans to pack Mitchell Hall.... Be interesting to see what the turnout is?

I find it quite accurate for La Crosse cable.  BTW, blame the NFL for not getting the game.  They want NFL TV included in extended basic packages even though it costs big money.  And they decided that Eau Claire (and La Crosse) were not "local" enough to get the game on over the air TV.  I'm not watching the playoffs as a way to thank the NFL for their greed.

As far as the game, it is a big one.  If La Crosse has visions of competing for the title, they MUST win at home.  This game is essential for both teams.  I'll be there.

Mr. Downtown, Brian Carroll and I should be there.  We'll try to say hello.
