Werner is certainly a strong POY candidate.

Brandon Brown is having a nice season, but he is inconsistent in ball handling and shooting.  I hope for good things from him next year.

I'll try and make this into a proper table when I get the chance....

       W   L   Pct    QOWI
   UW-Stevens Point (WIAC) 17   1   .944    11.667
   St. Thomas (MIAC) 20   2   .909    10.364
   St. John's (MIAC) 17   2   .895    10.211
   Whitworth (NWC) 16   2   .889    10.167
   Occidental (SCIAC) 9   2   .818    10.182
   Redlands (SCIAC) 9   2   .818    9.455
   Puget Sound (NWC) 13   3   .813    9.625
   UW-Oshkosh (WIAC) 15   4   .789    10.158
   Loras (IIAC) 13   4   .765    9.706
   Coe (IIAC) 14   5   .737    9.737
   Lewis and Clark (NWC) 11   4   .733    9.214
   Bethel (MIAC) 14 6 .700      8.800

My Projected West Rankings:

1)   Stevens Point
2)   St Thomas
3)   St Johns
4)   Whitworth
5)   Occidental
6)   Oshkosh
7)   Puget Sound

The next one: Redlands. It's sorta a little ironic that LaCrosse can't really be considered for a pool C due to too many in-region losses when they have wins over two of these teams!

I wanted to make a few comments on the job that Jeff Berkhof has done at UWRF.

In my opinion he should be coach of the year.  He wont get it but look at what he has done.

Starts a group of veteran role guys with as good a freshman combo as the league has seen in a few years.  Koonkoew and Robertson are having great freshman years.  Thompson is solid, but the rest of the team may not have another guy on the team that could start for anyone except Superior.

They need to get rid of the interim tag and hire the man.  just my 2 cents

I can't believe anyone doesn't think TVD at Oshkosh isn't coach of the year.  ::)

I'll take that tongue-in-cheek.

Preseason poll had Whitewater, Oshkosh, Point, Stout and La Crosse, Platteville, Eau Claire, River Falls and Superior

Right now, it's Point, Oshkosh, La Crosse...with River Falls tied for 6th with Stout, 1/2 game up on 8th place Eau Claire.

The midseason poll, which only had like 5 posters, had 2 votes going to Koelbl and 2 going to Semling with a split vote for each.

You can add me to the list that feel Berkhof has done a good job this year.

My point was that none of their returnees except Thompson could start for another WIAC team.

Berkhof recruited Davis, Koonkoew and Robertson and needs to be congratulated for that.

So he has taken 3 newcomers with Thompson and the rest of the guys are average at best and has done a great job.

That was my point

EC's comeback falls just short as they lose to RF 68-66.  EC down big at the half, make a big run to get back into it.  They actually take 1 point lead late in the game but RF make the clutch plays in the end.  Looks like EC has been playing better on the road as of late.

On a side note, Courtney Davis is back with the Falcons.

fredfalcon

Falcons edge Blugolds 68-66. Davis returns to score 12 in 18 minutes off the bench. Koonkaew, Olson, Robertson, Kelly all in 12-14 pt. range. Bardon w/20 led BG's w/ Hoelzel, Riley, Beyer all 12-14. Falcons had 15 pt. lead at half.
