Congrats to Joe Werner, a finalist for National POY.
http://www.uwsa.edu/wiac/mbasket/wernerjostens.html

"National POY" is not really what the Jostens Trophy is; it's much more than that.  The Jostens finalists exemplify academic success and community service in addition to basketball prowess.  In my mind, it is a far more prestigious award than just being the national "player" of the year.  Congratulations to Werner for this tremendous honor.

I am establishing the first ever WIAC Message Board Posters 3-on-3 Tournament.

I pick Stout survivor and BDshotblocker for my team.  The rest of you guys pick whoever you want.

Can I run the point,

If it's fair to take past posters I pick Cody Kastern and Nate Tempeler.  Nobody will pick OS, he's a short guy who wears hockey coats so I'll pick him.  Even I won't pick me.

Old school can be our coach, he can get any stats and info on any one we will play.

It would be nice to play Cody and Nate again
You are only as good as the people around you.

I'll take three guys named Rich Melzer, Nick Bennett and Jason Kalsow.  I'm coaching of course, unless it's 3 v 3 soccer. :D  Oh yeah, lurkers count.  ;)

I'm going with experience:Stoutguy, Badgerwarhawk, and Fredfalcon.  Slow the game down a bit, control the tempo, and we'll be just fine.

Is it legal to pick yourself?

Scratch that....kind how it all started huh?  I really should read messages much closer.  You know, become one with the message.

Lost Pool C bid...bye bye La Crosse??????

You guys, you have to pick present or former posters you know.  Kastern and Tempeler are both former posters but I don't recall any of those others posting here.

Unless you can play in one of these, I think that may be too much experience, Stoutguy.  ;D

Hey, hey, hey!  I invented it, I'll make the rules!

(All of which will unfairly benefit my own entry, of course).

1. Current posters are eligible. Former posters with at least 10 posts are eligible. Lurkers are not!

2. Posters above the age of 30 will be granted unlimited timeouts for oxygen and "special beverage" consumption.  Posters under 30 will be deprived of oxygen and required to meet a "special beverage" minimum in order to slow them down to the speed of those over 30.

3. Posters will only be allowed to refer to each other by their "handles", never their actual name.  "Hey, BDshotblocker!  Pass it to Stout survivor!  Watch out for Old School!  Hey someone call an ambulance for badgerwarhawk!"  You get the idea.  Penalty is loss of possession.  (As you can imagine the "special beverage" rule will come into play here as well.)

That was my intitial thought, but after reading some of the responses it sounds like it won't make that much of a difference.  Still have a shot, albeit a longshot.  It's great to be talking about the possibility of a 3rd team, instead of just 1 or maybe 2.  I would have loved to see what Rich Melzer would have done in the tourny his senior year

Is this a draft or am I allowed to test the "free agent" market ;D ;D

This should be followed by "He just passed out because Stoutguy actually bought a round of special beverages!"  :D

I BOUGHT STOUTGUY A PIZZA AND MULTIPLE BEERS ONCE. THE TAB CAME TO OVER 60 BUCKS. HE SAID HE'D PAY ME BACK. HE DID. HE TOOK ME TO QUIZNO'S ON SENIOR CITIZENS DAY SO HE GOT 50% OFF. COST HIM LIKE 6 BUCKS.

I think it should be noted what the special beverage or beverages might possibly before game time, so we shall know what level of play to expect.  Different beverages do different things at different rates.  ;D
