I thought Oshkosh would make it in. According to the QOWI Stevens was #44, Guilford #51... both far behind Oshy. From what I'm hearing on Hoopsville, Oshkosh not being in is surprising to them as well.

It does make perfect sense the way it was explained by Gordon Mann on Hoopville, it was hard to give Oshkosh the bid with 3 losses to LAX.  The upsets today with WPI and Amherst probably hurt them the most.  Its tough but that is the way it is.

not oshy or lax.  do these people selecting watch any wisconsin ball. just sad

I feel for the seniors and I know how hard they have worked (as i know all players have)  but this conference is a grind.  As big men we got to play Gibson one night and Werner the next. add Cobb, Skemp, Krull. Tollner, Robertson and some Nonemacher (i hear those guys are great, we had to in practice go head to head) what conference can say that.

Good luck Point and like in the movie Airplan ".. we are all counting on you."

This isn't D1.  >:( :P

It's all about the numbers...and that's it.  It's totally objective.  They don't look at "power conferences" or anything like that.

Survivor, Hoopsville mentioned that Osh couldnt have gotten in over UWL, as the Eagles had beaten them 3 times this year, yet it would be hard to justify putting UWL in ahead of Oshkosh because of their ranking and QOWI. Still, they believed (as many outside of WIAC backers have echoed) that SOMEONE should have gotten in. I think Oshkosh could have made a serious run had they been in the Midwest bracket that D3Hoops had predicted them to be a part of.

at least the conference is getting love from around the country (on the NJAC board:

The WIAC teams deserve to be in more than those two do.  I mean if Coast Guard gets your conferences Pool A bid, you don't deserve to go to the NCAA's.

I guess it was wishfull thinking that when the feild got expanded the days of one WIAC team in the dance was over.

For the next 4 weeks I'm a Point fan.  But then right back to Stout, I promise.

Has anyone seen the bracket?  Does Point get some home games?

Brackets will not be released until the morning.

Bracket comes out tomorrow approx 8:00am CST.  My guess is that Point gets a first round bye and hosts a team on Saturday.  If they win that, I think they would host a 4-team regional

Don't feel too salty, the WIAC did get THREE in last year.  :P

I just lose faith in the selection idiots year after year. But, its a different ballgame in D3. Georgia School of Typewriter Maintenance may go 24-2 during the year and not have a conference, and they get in. While WIAC teams beat the heck out of each other all year and get punished for it. I'm sure any of the top 4 teams could get a few wins in the tournament every year, but unless 2 WIAC teams have 23+ wins, it may never happen.

We'll know tomorrow morning. All I know is that since they royally screwed the West this year, they better give the teams actually made the tournament a nice easy road for once.  >:( :-X

It just seems like the tourny is AQ and then whoever.  when it should be the best this division has to offer.

I would like to see the two teams that got in instead play Oshy and Lax and see what happens, should they win then i would shut up .... but i would think the opposite.

I can only hope that the tourny gets the POINT (oh thats right its a play on words)

Werner and Gibson if you are ever in our neck of the woods let us know.  (golf anyone)

It's a rock and a hard place between Lax, Oshkosh, and the NCAA.

I was suprised last year when Lax got in, and now suprised the other way.

frodotwo

I would hope Point gets to host some games....they still are on top of the charts aren't they? Of course they lost to Oshkosh so that could be held against them.
