Didn't the Packers audition a D-III basketball player last year? Sounds like a regular part of their scouting repertoire now.

Pat,

That was a few years ago when Tim Dworak from Oshkosh tried out. He did the whole professional Wisconsin circuit with the Packers and Bucks.

I know the Brewers haven't been great the last few years, but they ARE still considered a professional team, aren't they?!

Gotcha. I had Braier stuck in my head for that, I guess.

Braier can't play in the NFL as he is going to be the coach at Beloit according to the MWC board.

I have no knowledge of Werner trying out for football here.

It is certainly a long shot, but if the Packers or anyone else are interested, he might as well give it a shot.

Check out WIAC PP page 500.  I posted a link on April 5 reporting his tryout.

Congrats to Kerry Gibson for making the final cut of the CBI (D2, D3 and NAIA equivilent to the Portsmith one for D1 players) in Ohio.

Does Van Dellen or any other coach get to go along and coach him?  Or be part of the staff?

I'm not sure about other WIAC players...

But, per the UWSP website, Jon Krull was on the NABC first team West regional team, Steve Hicklin and Pete Rortvedt were second team, and Bob Semling was the West region coach of the year.

Stout survivor

I wonder if there should be an all region posting up team and poster of the year.

Who would be the candidates from the WIAC would be
-old school
-point special
-badger warhawk
-mr downtown
-pioneer hoops

any one want to make changes or a case for others in other conferences.

You are only as good as the people around you.

We'd probably get smoked by the MIACers...and possibly Oxybob from the SCIAC, and since April is living out there now, we'd have to include the famous Diehardfan in our region (who can compete with that?!).  I think we're safe from the IIAC and probably the NWC.

After looking at some old WIAC pick em standings, please locate the following posters:

St. Croix
Winneconne Legend (I met him at the Point game this year!)
SAP
Jumbo
Bucky
Darby
Oldgold
Abercrombie92
Kek
Storm
Hoops
Swing Doctor
Oldpa

Old School -

You also met Jumbo and Paper or Plastic, but they won't admit that.

The real question is... has UW-River Falls officially made a hiring for the head men's basketball coach position yet. This is taking quite a long time to make interim head coach Jeff Berkhof the official head coach. Whats going on in the St. Croix Valley?

Greek Tragedy

Ah, so you and Winneconne Legend are going to join the fantasy league next year and those other two crazies with you at Quandt were Jumbo and Paper or Plastic?  I see...  ??? ::) :D  Although the latter never has posted, as far as I'm aware of.

River Falls   lets get it going and give Berkhof the job....

Tell me he did not earn it this past season...

With Koonkauw and Nobertson back they have two guys that will be really nice for the next three years.
