NAIA Div II is allowed to give up 6 full scholarships.  But academic and fianacial need awards are given more freely there.  Schools with strong fundraising can end up having the equivalent of 10-12 full scholarships.  Does this school fall in that category, I'm not sure

Entertaining poll on the front page regarding Jack Bennett, in case you missed it.  I got a good kick out of it.

first_timer is correct on the scholarship situation in NAIA D2. There are a good handful of schools in the NAIA D2 that "find a way" to give full scholarships. Those scholarships don't all have to be from basketball. Like first_timer said there are academic and "financial needs" awards that they can tap on to help a student go to that college. It is up to that institution to decide how much money goes out to each student. Some schools are flexible and some are NOT!

I didn't even notice that.  At least that ONE game is at Quandt! lol  ;D :D ??? ::)

according to the UWSP women's schedule, the women play in Whitewater on Saturday, Dec. 1st. (I'd assume the men play then too.

Hoops Junkie

with regards to the UWRF situation and the Ryan Thompson transfer.  He told Berkhof that he was going to transfer even before Jeff got named the head coach.

Eric Olson and Tim Pearson were told that they would not be welcome on the team.

Things are not always what they seem from an outside persective.

Old School expect UWRF to make some noise with Koonkaew, Robertson, Kelly and Davis.

New comers Willie Wright and Scott Guerin are going to be big additions.

I think this is a case of addition by subtraction.

Greek Tragedy

They'll definitely still have a strong starting team, IMO.  I didn't want you to think I was throwing them under the bus, but losing Thompson is still pretty big.

How very, very true.   We should all keep this in mind when posting here.

I don't know anything about Jeff Berkhof except that based on what I saw last year he knows how to coach.  It looks like RF did a pretty good job finding Rick's replacement.

JSOnline is reporting that Joe Werner has signed a free agent contract with the PACKERS.

Best wishes to Joe Werner! Enjoy the experience!

Good effort but I guess it's to be expected when your opponent has a guy who's 213cm tall.

No big deal!  The Nonemachers are a hair taller than that.  ;D Using my math skills, 213 cm is just under 7 ft. tall.  In contrast, I come in at a robust 160 cm.  ::)  Wow, if that isn't the longest link I've seen.

Congrats to Joe Werner, it really couldn't happen to a better kid. Best of luck with the cheeseheads. You've really made all of us D3 fans proud!

According to the La Crosse media, the Packers had some injury issues and needed bodies in the tight end corps.

I wish him well and hope he makes the most of this opportunity.
