With that rationale, that means I've only seen the really good players, and Dan Beyer is definitely a really good player.  ::) ;D (did I just give away my 1st round pick?)

After he ended the season against Whitewater the way he did in the regular season.....I am taking him #1 if I have it!

Here's how the Falcons shape up on paper:  5 starters (guys who started 18-26 games) return, including top 3 scorers (all averaged between 13-14.6 ppg); top transfer, Willie Wright, 6'4," from U. of Missouri, Rolla, senior, who could be best (most athletic, say coaches) on team; two other transfers, one from Minnesota Morris, Steve Farmer, who averaged 9 ppg last year as a sophomore, and DiJon Reese, 5'9," junior, from Riverland Community College in Minneapolis, who averaged 19 ppg, 9 assists, 5 rbds. last year.

Add to that a couple of promising freshmen, and you have a team poised to do better than predicted, I think. Did not see them in first scrimmage, a split squad affair, but will report on it after Saturday's exhibition vs. Bemidji State.

OS, I agree with you about last year's standings.

New to the board so be kind.

UWW (#25) scrimmaged Elmhurst (#18) last Fri and played them even. Perry and King were the only players from last year that started. Both of them looked good and Perry's knee didn't seem to be a problem. King (6' 7" 225) has put on some weight and held his own against their big man (6' 9" 255) The 2 new guards (both transfers) looked good. Dustin Mitchel and Kori Vernon both came off the bench and played well. UWW did a full court press the whole first 20 min so that may be the coach's plan. We will see how things go.

Welcome.  We hope you stick around for the season.  Here's a Karma point bribe to get you started.

I gather Jason Price is not with the team?

Greek Tragedy

It was discussed how Jason Price's in-your-face defense will be missed now that he is not with the team (ok, that was sarcasm).  ;D Scroll back a few pages...seriously though, he's not with the team.

My guess is that Platteville's will be posted start of next week.  They still have a scrimmage this weekend yet and I dont know if they have their roster completely figured out yet.

Six freshmen on the roster with five "featured" in the "recruiting class" article on the website.  Greg Knox was not included in that, so not sure who he is.

I believe Greg Knox was introduced at last years' P-G game as a grey shirt about 6'4" and a wide body!

Greek Tragedy

frodo,

Yeah, that's what Dave (Swampgoon) told me last night...I just remembered the 7-foot guy who was going to the tech school with him.  See ya tonight.

The EC Leader Telegram reports that Gibbons cut Bardon from the team due to performance related issues.

UW 38
EC 23
Half

EC played very well in the first 10min and trailed only 18-16 at that point.  UW however, got on a bit of a roll to take a 15 point halftime lead.  Goodwin and Shea are the newcomers who have seen significant action in the first half.  Probst has probably played the best for EC.  I think he will be the 2nd leading scorer (after Beyer) this season.
