Thanks UWW/UWM, he might need to cut some, I don't know how some of those subs stay on and don't get no playing time, unless it's a blowout.  Seems like Groth and Kolinske have been on the teem since 1994.

But gotta love D3 I guess.  I'm so jacked because charter carries ESPNU and it has college b-ball on all the time.  And also with like 4 FSNs, get all the west coast bball and SEC action.  Don't even need the extended ESPN 360.  They should extend FSN iN all the way to Superior so I can catch those YellowJackets :)  Or even Finlandia.

I make do with Charter expanded basic.  Still way more games than I have time to watch.

Greg,

We've heard that North Park has added some new faces and has a pretty decent looking team this year.  Will you be coming up for their games this weekend?

It's iffy, BW. My original ride fell through, and it depends upon whether or not I can find a backup.

Friday's probably a no-go, since NPU plays too early on a workday (5 pm) for most Vikings fans to get up there from Chicagoland. Saturday's a better possibility, but, as I said, it's iffy.

Ask and thall shall recieve.  The UWW roster is posted on their website.

Tough to tell who will start.  4 "Gray" shirts this year.  I think Mitchell was in the same boat a couple of years ago, sat out a year and got stronger.  Pretty tall team from what the stats say and from what I've seen.  Will be interesting to see if the bench/role players from last year can get a crack at the rotation and contribute this year.  Or if the transfers that Miller has had success with in the past (Melvin/Scoobie, i.e.) will step in and mesh with the other players.

It is listed that Rob Perry is a junior.  I thought he was a senior????

If you make it stop and say hello.  Hopefully our two teams will meet on Saturday night.

17 listed with #s and 4 w/o. Not sure what that means but only 2 players didn't make the team.

Travis Handy- Mil. Luthern
Hank McGowan- Mil. Vincent

Aren't the ones without #'s essentially "practice" players?
- They won't travel
- Likely won't be on a game roster (unless an injury occurs)
- Likely are freshmen (grey shirt or true) as they're on the roster for their potential in future years

I think the "class" data is wrong ... may be carried over from last year's roster ... there are others like Groth who are listed as juniors but truly are seniors!

Platteville's roster is posted as well.

Extremely tall roster with Skemp and Froiland listed at 6'-10", Brown and Gibbons at 6'-8" and Henney at 6'-7".

Two freshmen to watch out for is Nick Allen and Henney!

This is your lucky day! You can get to the IFAN Sports Network online and WATCH, yes WATCH, Superior athletic events right there in the comfort of wherever your computer is (and with a laptop, the possibilities are endless). If IFAN isn't running hockey or a highschool game, it will be covering UW-Superior or St Scholastica or, possibly, Northland basketball. You don't have to miss a minute IFAN isn't missing.

Seriously, though, I'm anxious to see how the recruited and highly touted freshmen stand up to WIAC play.

No snow here, yet. How about down there?

Somebody can correct me if I am wrong, however I believe that those un-numbered players are NOT eligible for "grey shirts."  They are considered part of the team.  The way I undersand it, the only way a player can "save" a year eligiblity wise this if they refrain from all team functions, (i.e practices, etc.)

Anyone else hear otherwise?

To clarify ... yes you are correct that if you are on the roster you are not a grey shirt.  A grey shirt is someone who has no affiliation what so ever with the program.

For example John Witte for Whitewater acaemically is a sophomore while he's listed as a freshman on the roster.  He "grey-shirted" last year ... he's listed on the roster without a number this year.

He is a member of the team, he likely will not travel or dress for games but he can/will practice with the team.

Greek Tragedy

If I'm correct, once the regular season starts, grey shirting starts.  All players can practice with the team until the first regular season game.  Then, if they "grey shirt" they cannot participate in any team functions.

Greek Tragedy

I "voted" for 21-25 games this year because I didn't want to look like a complete loser! lol.  Fortunately for me, three others took the 25+ route!  Who are ya??  Anyway, if you go to the multi-region link and then go to the interconference board, back on page 12, I listed all the games I attended, and others followed suit.  Apparently, I'm a bigger loser than I thought I was since I checked my count and it was at 41!  I didn't realize I attended so many! lol.  Anyway, we'll see how this year goes.

It looks like all the rosters are up, including late arrivals Oshkosh and Whitewater.  Looks like a lot of new faces.

I'm planning on getting on my better half's bad side on Friday by traveling down to Whitewater to see the double dip.  Honestly, I'd rather be in Iowa to see Grinnell, Eau Claire, Aurora and Wartburg, or even Platteville, which has Beloit, Edgewood and Maryville.  Anyway, it's on to Point for Saturday's opener vs. Carroll...
