Hate to sound ignorant, but what school is UPS?  ??? ???

Thats okay...atleast you didn't make the old worn out joke UPS that everyone has heard a million times.

UPS actually has a little bit of history against the WIAC going 1-2 over the past 4 season.  Two loses to the Pointers in the sweet 16.  The lone win came against a Melzer led River Falls teams

Always good to get a "W" on opening night.  Since I wont be at many games this year...

If you mean games in general, no excuses.  Point plays at home tonight and it's only an hour's drive from Appleton.  Lawrence is in your town (I think they play some good nonconference games at home, as well as seeing Grinnell and Ripon games), St. Norb's is about 30 minutes up 41 and Oshkosh is about 30 minutes down 41.  NO EXCUSES.

Anytime you want to meet up for a game, throw me a message or something.  I think Swampgoon will even let you sit by us! lol  :P

Superior started one sophomore and four freshmen; came out strongish against St Scholastica's more experienced juniors and seniors. Somewhere toward the end of the first half, Soupboys slowed down. The most telling difference seemed to be bulk: Yellowjackets looked pretty scrawny; Roeder, who had some nice rebounds took his defence too deep under the basket and CSS simply shot over him--practically layups. He had a decent game. Fun to watch; promising, but the game ended up much like Stout game (not the same results as Blue Devils, however). Superior gets down by three and then commits a foul with 7 seconds on the clock. The Supers looked pretty tired by the end. It ain't high school anymore.

No box to be found. Superior is pathetic at getting results up on the web.

Thanks for the update from up Nort', Phoenix.  I hope you will continue to keep us informed on the going-ons near the Canadian border! lol.  We don't see too many reps from that area, so it's always nice to see a new poster!

This year I might have to stick to WIAC games.  Oshkosh and Stevens Point are close by and of course I'll have to make at least one trip to the Johnson Feildhouse!!!!!! :)  I will let you know when i'm coming, would love to share some time with you guys again ;D ;D

Where are the returners for Sup Town??? ???  They had some guys last year who when mixed in with there recruiting class could have potentially pulled them out of the cellar.

Stout 45 Viterbo 28 at half

Much more energy from Stout this game pushing the ball and keeping the tempo very high.  Hit a hot streak but got a little shot crazy near the end of the half.  Need to come out with a lot of energy to start the second and keep Viterbo running the second half so they cant settle in and knock down three's

GO STOUT

Purely a guess: Buchanen is building his own team. UWSup went two or more years without any real recruiting; the players who could have stuck around may not have foreseen a place in the lineup. The team consistenly (OK, for two games) plays a young line. But, I don't really know.

Buchanen is heavily campaigning to bring the crowd to games: free burgers before the game (thanks to the UWS BBQ Club...does Stout have one of those? It should), upped the ante on half-time game prizes (win an ipod for one; $300 gift certificate for another). He's working as hard on the audience as he is on the team.

Can he possibly lure hockey gawkers away from the ice? Stay tuned

Stout starts 2-0 with a win over Viterbo today 81-63

Good game for stout who often went to a 4 guard line-up and pushed to tempo all day long.  Webb and Enerson-Mathews lead a group of guards who can hit outside shots or take it to the hole.  Inside might be a problem this year but Heisler and Donald (who did not play today) can hit from 15' and can run the floor.  They will fit well with the offense that stout is playing this year, up tempo and spread the floor.

For those who would like an update on my afternoon Stout and Montana win, Notre Dame and Wisconsin are winning. could be a good one ;D

Both won, though Wisconsin barely survived a Gopher team that may be the worst Big Ten team since Northwestern was a joke.  And beating Duke in basketball may be a legitimate reason to celebrate, but when Notre Dame rejoices to beat them in football, well ... can the Irish possibly fall any lower? :o

Sorry, I'll plead that I'm a Wolverine-in-mourning. :'(

yes its true that Wisconsin made it close and ND got its 2 second win of the year
BUT
Montana did not lose a single game and Stout is off to a 2-0 start why are you trying to drag me down ;D

Aurora defeats EC by 9, 64-55, in the consolation game of the Wartburg tournament.

A player for EC to watch out for is freshman Ryan Shea.  I think he will be a good WIAC player.

-Bulk

This stat is for you.  EC 6-13 (46%) from the FT line in tonights game.
