OS--not sure it is surprising that RF is unbeaten. However, after their performance vs. Bemidji in the "exhibition" and a reportedly similar performance vs. Augsburg in a scrimmage, I was a bit skeptical.

Last nite they played a small 1-8 team, and Friday they were down at half by 5 to a very quick Macalaster team which had a legit star or two in Conboy and the lightning quick, small guard, Abe somebody. But when I suggested to a few of their fans after the game that the Macs were pretty good, they all laughed at me. Mac is picked about third from the bottom in the MIAC.

UWRF:  you and your partner did a good job in the broadcast. I liked the frequent updates on the stats, and your partner's comment on help defense showed she knows something about the game.

UWW4ever--No, I was not at the second RF game. Melzer is somewhere in Europe, playing for a German team. When I tried to access team stats, there was a charge so I quit--can't afford it!

Yes, you could get a bucket off Melzer--if he let you!

Thanks it was my first men's broadcast so i was a little nervous.  And we were having some technical difficulties, so that didnt make things easier. But Concordia was great about helping us out.  As far as the stats go i love having the computer screen right there but we dont always get that.

River Falls off to a 2-0 start to the 07-08 campaign. Their first 2-0 start since the 2002-03 season. I wouldn't call it "surprising" to start 2-0, because those were two teams UWRF should have beat. That being said, RF has an exciting team to watch this season. They have multiple guys that can put up big games and some young guys that will just get better with experience throughout the season. Consistency will be the key word to this team's success this season.

What's up everyone? It's been a while since I've posted.  I'm excited about Superior's team, not only this year, but also for the future.  I think Coach Buchanan has done an excellent job of recruiting and bringing talent to Superior; These kids love to play, and are always in the gym/weight room working on their game-which is absolutely what it takes to make a winner.

I was @ the UWS/St. Scholastica game on Friday night.  Although Superior lost, they were ahead majority of the game, and looked to be the better team (they play Scholastica again in a few weeks, and I think they will get them there).   UWS started 4 Freshman, and 1 Soph, a very young lineup.

Stout Survivor-It was a nice crowd on hand for the St. Scholastica game (including the student section).

Buf-Ryan Shea is a nice player.  I played against him alot up here.  I wish we (UWS) could have got him, but he will help UWEC.

UWRF-I will be @ UWS/Northland College game on Tuesday.  Who is your Cousin?

Holy cow its Kastern- It was great to get a chance to see you play a couple years ago and I hope all is well.

Where are the PLatt guys to talk about their good weekend?
You are only as good as the people around you.

I will say this, I don't know if it's the hockey influence up there but even with only 150 people in attendence (last couple of years) the 25-30 students were always loud, organized, and in your ear the whole game >:( >:( ;)  If SupTown can get 150+ students at every game, it will be a tuff place to play

Oh cmon DR, give me a little credit.

I did! I gave you a LITTLE credit! Seriously, hope things are going well for you. I enjoyed my WW life, 1962-69, back before Williams Arena/Perkins Stadium, when the Franklin St. Gym and football field were ACTION CENTER, Salisbury Hall was a dorm, and when The Huddle was BIG! How many years ago did that place die?

I'll bet you never heard of The Huddle, 4ever.

Sorry for the delay.  Wasn't anywhere near a computer all weekend, so had to wait til I got to work to post.

Very impressive weekend in Platteville.  On Friday night, UWP whooped a not so good team in Beloit, but UWP did force 28 turnovers (16 of them steals) and limit Beloit to 17% shooting.  The 23 points allowed set a Pioneer record.  Incredible defensive intensity.  These kids FLAT OUT GET AFTER IT on both sides of the ball, but especially on the defensive end.  Platteville will go 10-12 deep every game, and for the most part there isn't much drop off when the next guy comes in.

Saturday night, much more of the same.  UWP had a great first half had a big lead, but came out a little flat in the second half and I believe turned the ball over 3 or4 times in their first 5 or 6 trips down the floor.  Again, very gritty effort and withstood a late run by Maryville when everything was falling, including a sideways running 3 pointer that banks in from the top of the key.

Biggest difference I see in this team you may ask from last year?  JOSH LANGENFELD.  He is the point guard presence they missed last year.

Good weekend and should be a good one for the guys next weekend as they play Webster and Wash U down in St. Louis.

Thanks for the street cred Fred, LOL.

Salsbury is now torn down, so is Baker and making way for the new business building.  The huddle is now Fat Jack's.  Huddle closed something like 5 years ago after a cocaine bust.  It looks really nice but I've only been there once or twice.  Wasn't a big Huddle guy.  I'm in Milton now and not WW, but I still work out at the Williams Center a lot.

Hope things in RF are going well too.  Beau recently had a baby, Zachary Beau, we hope he's a lefty and a 7 footer.  Good to hear bout Richie.  Hope he can get to the show one day.

I was at the Huddle a few times during the years you mentioned Fred.

As long as we're tripping down memory lane, is there still a Big Moon Saloon in Stevens Point?

JanesvilleFlash - were you involved in any way in the cocaine bust?
