To the poster who linked to the Kerry Gibson Q&A:

Why did you delete that post?
Are you the same person who took the story off the newspaper's Web site?

Whatever the case, that's some pretty shady journalism. The interviewer had to know that what he submitted made Gibby seem, well, not so great. What's wrong with that? Why pull the story when the inevitable happens? Because, as suggested in a previous post, the interviewer and interviewee are friends? That's inexcusable and makes the decision to pull it even worse, in my opinion. I hope that's not the case.

We get to read about an athlete being honest ... for a whole day. Then someone thinks better of it. Anyone involved in pulling that story should be embarrassed. If you're not embarrassed, I'm embarrassed for you, and you should think about pursuing a new career.

As for the current UWO basketball team, Matty Miller is running the point a lot better than I thought he would. I always thought he would be a better shooting guard than point, but he's proven me wrong so far this year. He seems so much more confident with the ball this year. He's still not shy about jacking 3s, of course. But he's also breaking people down and attacking the rim. Anyway, I'm VERY impressed by Miller this year.

Curious to see if Jordan Johnson can lock down another scorer tomorrow. If he does, UWO could be an improbable 6-0. Who knew?

It would appear--and this is merely a guess--that UW-Superior vs St Scholastica men's basketball game has been cancelled. I only make this assumption since both major bridges between Duluth and Superior, part of the interstate in Duluth, at least one of the major city streets and all the campuses in the area were closed this afternoon. Checked IFAN to see if maybe I was wrong but the picture was all snowy... 8)

I am sure Gibson was being funny because if he hated it there why would he want to go back to europe next year.  Also when you think of europe vacation spots  I would put where he is about ...... no where on that list :D  About it being removed it might be better for him,  teams read that too and if I were his agent I would not be to happy about what was said. (my two cents)  I am happy the Kerry is getting a look and wish him all the best, he is young, tall, and good skills... if only I were young  and had skills ;)
You are only as good as the people around you.

I deleted my post linking to the A-T article because I regretted putting it on this forum.  I thought people would be interested in an ex-WIAC player getting to play professionally, not as an opportunity for them to make a personal attack on someone who is probably very homesick living in a foreign country and having a hard time making the adjustment.  He obviously hasn't learned you have to word your comments to the media very carefully to avoid this kind of attack.  I feel guilty for having caused it, and it was a stupid mistake I will never make here again.  As far as the article disappearing from the A-T website, you will have to talk to someone associated with that publication.  I have nothing to do with them.

Greek Tragedy

Lighten up...the first thing I said was it was entertaining.  I thought it was funny with some of the comments and the posts that were supposedly criticizing him were probably tongue in cheek, in some part.  Though we ripped on him a little because he wasn't too politically correct, it was an interesting article and did give us some insight on the life style there.

I wouldn't regret putting it up there.  I think it was a good read and maybe Gibby will realize he has to bite his tongue a little bit...and Oshdude was right, had it been a "professional" interviewer, I'm sure he would've refrained from making some of those comments, like the beer comment!

John,

Gibson said he hated Lithuania, not Europe.  He actually said he wanted to come back, but to Germany or a higher level team.

Oshdude,

Yes, Matt "Little Guy" Miller has impressed and surprised me a lot too, so you aren't the only one.  Swampgoon and I are heading over for the big Whitewater/Oshkosh tilt tomorrow.  I'll be in my usual garb if you want to say hi.

Speaking for myself I was joking though admittedly I didn't include a ;) or :D to clarify the matter.   Truthfully though who wouldn't be happy playing in a basketball mecca like D1 Lithuania?  Relax, that's just another feeble attempt at humor.  I think it's great he's still doing what he really wants to and I hope he advances in the future. ;) :D

Myles McKay transferred from UW Milwaukee.  He played sparingly in both the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons.

Matt Goodwin went to Williston State Junior College for two years before he transferred to Pacific University.  However, he took a redshirt in his one year at Pacific, giving him two years of eligibility at Whitewater.

Goodwin came from Univ of the Pacific. From what I've been told, he played  JC for 2 years and got a scholarship to Pacific but was red/gray shirted and never played there.

Mike McKay came from UWM. Not sure what his story is .

Glad both choose UWW.

Good luck tonight Hawks....we will need it against a good UWO team which should be ranked.

Try to catch up with the Stout radio crew. Stoutguy will fill up any and all empty air time you have. (will be hot air though)
