Stout giving up 99 to Finlandia is crazy to me, I know Eddie prides himself and his team on defense.  It will be a grind in the WIAC in Jan and I am still wishing that stout can get it together to al least be competitive this year ( I am not puting money on it though)

Quotes like this seem to imply that Finlandia is a terrible team. That is not the case. EC barely survived there Saturday, Stout had to go to o.t. to win at home against them, RF lost at home to them. Even tho Falcons played very uninspired ball that nite, F's center is good enuf to start in the WIAC--for RF and other WIAC teams. Another player, not their center, had over 30 vs. Stout. They may have been terrible last year, but not this season.

MESSAGE TO RECRUITS:  IN DOUBT? ENROLL AT STOUT. DON'T CARE? GO TO EAU CLAIRE. AT A LOSS? TRY LACROSSE. FEELIN' OUTTA JOINT? YOUR PLACE IS POINT. DON'T LIKE THE REST? DO WHAT'S BEST!

GOT BALLS? PLAY FOR THE FALLS!

It's called EARLY SEASON Freshman of the Year for a reason guys.

Can't imagine an award I would want less if I ended up laying an egg during the 2nd half of the season.

Mr_Downtown

Well, it's not an award, just a poll. I mean, look around the WIAC and there are Freshmen that are playing out of their mind.

I think the award is fine.

And we all know what it will be worth in March!  :o

I think those guys are just salty because there aren't any Stout players on the poll!  Seriously though, it's not a big deal.  It's a fun poll simply to get some participation and talk going.

Well, excuuuuuuuuuuse me.  I should have said poll winner, not award winner.  I'm glad we got that cleared up.

Whitewater 74, Olivet 53

I had planned on attending and giving a good write up but the weather and Olivets rural location conspired against me.

I followed the live stats and it was never close,  WW by double-digits from 8 min left in the first half to the end.  Led wire to wire.

Matt Goodwin didn't start, with Kori Vernon stepping in. Is that just a experiment for Coach Miller, or is this a change in plans for the season?

Did I see D3 Hoops advertising the Book of Mormon? That's not a playbook of Mormon, is it?

Pioneer Hoops Fan

Well Graduation Saturday turned out to bee a pretty good day, or ending anyway for the Pioneers.  UWP started very ugly, but finished fantasitcally.  Big second half by Jeff and the other young leaders of the Pioneers.  Played inspired ball in the second half to put Clake away.

In the first half, none of the Pioneers wanted to do the little things, which is not very typical of them.  Maybe it was  the thought that finals start, and no games for two weeks when they travel to Sunny San Diego, but in the second half they did those things.  Clarke had 10 offensive rebounds in this game, and it seems to me that 8 or 9 of them were in the first half, so I'm glad the coaches were able to get through, and our Junior leaders took it personal and got the job done.

You should have gone, Sac.  Olivet is just off of Interstate 69 (no, I am not making that up).  Expressways all the way from Wisconsin.  It is a lovely campus, too.  I should know.  Olivet, Class of 1967.

OTOH, you may have encountered some of Western Michigan's famous lake effect snow along the way!

Mr. Ypsi

In fact, he fairly recently relocated from Holland to much nearer Olivet - that's how bad the roads were yesterday!

I'm living in Lansing at the moment, grew up about 15 miles from Olivet.  Indeed it was horrible weather, although it did clear up a bit, and probably enough to try it.  I had 6 inches of snow here and it was progressively more the further south you went.  Along with the 40 mph winds it was a bit much for a game I'd have no rooting interest in.  Staying home and watching the Lions completely restore my faith in their ineptness in the warm confines of my living room was more appealing.

Thats my excuse and I'm sticking with it. :D
