PointSpecial:

I think the main point for the bench decorum this season is the coaches actually being out on the floor and not in the box.  Some places, like Karges, there is not a whole lot of room, so if the toes are out there I think they let it slide.  Guys like Jack Bennett, ahem, had their coaching box extend to the three point line from the sideline ;D  So I'm sure at looking at how coaches were creaping out on to the floor, that was the reasoning for the emphasis this year.

I totally agree... but interestingly, regardless WHERE the coaches have been (for the most part) the technicals and ejections I've seen have much more been due to comments made as opposed to where on the floor (hehe) the coaches have been.

Now, of course, there are plenty of examples where the coach is way too far on the floor (3 point line, free throw line, etc, where there's been a T called) or lobbed certain props onto the floor (Bobby Knight and that unfortuante chair), but these are much more rare (thankfully for the character and integrity of the game, but unfortunate for the entertainment factor it provides).  I think the point is to try to take the spotlight away from the coaches and put it back on the players.

I agree with you there, cuz I'm sure Ken Koebel wasn't commenting that he liked the official's haircut.  If the AD at Oshkosh has taken the step to put colored tape down as a reminder, then maybe the officials are going to start enforcing the coaches box rule after the past few weeks with ejections.  I'm not sure if what happened in Superior had anything to do with Oshkosh yet, since they were played the same day, but the league may have sent the message before hand.  The boxes are marked, but the coaches just might need a little smack of the knuckles with a ruler (bring back any memories for anyone?) "To say now don't go over the line!"

Maybe he is anticipating a lot of suspensions.

I realize Superior got blown out against Whitewater and things are looking a bit dismal, but they have more wins than Stout and RF combined and you have them last in the WIAC? I think that's jumping to an early conclusion.

Titansrus,
I agree.  Plus they still have River Falls at home.

Greek Tragedy

It's a week to week basis, guys.
FOR THE WEEK:

Superior lost to previously winless Stout and lost by 33 or whatever to Whitewater.

Stout finally won and then only lost by single digits to Platteville.

River Falls lost their only only game of the week.

By those results, and La Crosse's two wins, Superior would be considered having the worse week.  Don't take the rankings too seriously, it's just for fun!

Come on guys cut him some slack.  You've no idea how hard it is for him to be ranking Stevens Point 4th.  ;)

OS, Hungary is a country.  Hungry is what you are when you crave cannoli or championships.    ;D

Yeah, they didn't have a very good week.  Hopefully the can beat EC @ Zorn tonight.

I think he's just mad that I said Jackie Moon (Flint Tropics) is a better all-around player than Kalsow.

By they way Old School, you know that Superior is actually in the United States and not in Canada. 8)  There's bars,fast-food chains, even a shopping mall up here.  Its great. :D

Is that Duluth or Superior, cause I didn't see much when I visited Superior last year (then again, we did get lost, and ended up in Duluth. I know, you have to drive through Superior to get to Duluth...that's how lost we were).

I have pity for all the team's that have to travel today. Weather conditions like this have to be extra hard to pick up a road win.

Basically, If you want to eat anywhere nice, shop anywhere nice, or enjoy a drink in a non-smoking environment, you have to go to Duluth.  You probably didn't see much when you visited Superior last year, because there isn't much.  It's basically Superior, Minnesota.  You came up to watch Oshkosh play?

Having been to Superior for games on 2 occasions, I found the food at the concession stand to be very good. The popcorn comes in a large bag and is real fresh. The local Burger King was also quite nice. Enjoy the local flavor I say.

The only other time I was in Superior/Duluth outside of basketball, was to watch... I mean support a friend that ran in Grandma's Marathon.  Spent most of the dinning hours in Duluth, but found the Applebee's in Superior.  We stayed at the Days Inn there for that...which is also where we stayed for Basketball.  I'm convinced it is one of two hotels in the area.  The other being the Holiday Inn Suites right behind it.

If you're really looking to impress the Mrs, or Mr.  All the rooms in the Days have one wall of only mirrors.  Thats right, I said a wall!

Oh, that's my problem. We visited the A & W.

Yeah, TitansRus and I broadcast the doubleheader in Superior last year. Had no clue that Eau Claire is the halfway point between Superior and Oshkosh.

Any news out of Platteville's front for the big game tonight? I'll be listening and watching live stats...

Speaking of live stats, I don't think I ever need to listen to the Pointers broadcast for a game at Quandt with the set up they have for Stats. Now that is live stats.

No news here really other than the Pioneers get the chance to play their first game of the season as a top 25 team.  Interesting note from the SID here that it will be the sixth time this year the Pioneers have played a ranked opponent, but the first time this season on Bo Ryan Court.

Other big news would be pre-game $1 burgers and $1 taps at The Ticket Sports Bar and Grill.  Got get my game face on before the big game you know!
