On first glance, it looks like everybody on the pickem board except Stout Survivor went 4-0 as EC, Point, Osh, WW all win big. SS, hoping for upsets (?) picked Lax and RF.

MESSAGE TO RECRUITS:  IN DOUBT? ENROLL AT STOUT. DON'T CARE? GO TO EAU CLAIRE. AT A LOSS? TRY LACROSSE. FEELIN' OUTTA JOINT? YOUR PLACE IS POINT. DON'T LIKE THE REST? DO WHAT'S BEST!

GOT BALLS? PLAY FOR THE FALLS!

EC wins over RF 77-54.  EC played well throughout and on both ends of the court.  Got  to see some players that rarely get PT and they looked good also.  RF just couldn't get their shots to go tonight and ended up shooting 32% for the game and under 50% on FTs.

Yes I was hoping for upsets.  Maybe all this New England air has made me crazy but I thought in order to make a run for the top I needed "upsets" in a big way.  Lax did play PLatt tought and RF did look good against Suptown so I went for it..... I can dream can't I??? Besides we are Stout and River Falls fans aren't we???? all we ;D have are dreams
You are only as good as the people around you.

Not much to say about the UWO/UWL game. After a couple of quick UWO 3s, DSA scored early and often on his unique assortment of moves. Then everyone else got in on the act. It was over rather quickly. Credit Oshkosh, but LAX didn't seem up for playing today. UWO was better in every phase of the game.

It appeared Koebel's early plan was to get UWO in foul trouble by dumping it in the post while everyone took a nap on the perimeter. Jordan Johnson got his second foul and sat for a good part of the first half, but it really didn't matter. Ryan Johnsen played well in his stead, and DSA and Marsh stayed out of foul trouble.

Schrimpf and Miller had a few back-breaking 3s at the end of possessions in helping UWO finish 10-of-19 from beyond the arc.

For those of you waiting for WW to self destruct, I wouldn't hold my breath.  These guys are good.  Trailing early because they missed their first 13 shots, they never got  rattled and took control of the game early.  Great shooting by Goodwin and really nice inside play, they share the basketball just fine.  Goodwin scores 33 and is clearly by best athlete on the floor.  Vernon has 22 inside and this team has all the weapons.  With the football thing already going for them, I think it's a bit selfish to be thinking about a men and women's conference crown in basketball as well.  I'll bet we have a synchronized swimming team that can kick your ass. ::)

Conference Tourney Pairings (If the season ended today)

1  Platteville*       10-2
8  River Falls        2-10

4  Stevens Point*   9-3
5  La Crosse         5-8

3  Oshkosh*          10-3
6  Eau Claire         5-8

2  Whitewater*      10-2
7  Superior            4-9

Left Out: Stout  1-11

Huge week for Whitewater, easily the toughest stretch of their season as they take on Platteville and Stevens Point on the road, and then welcome Oshkosh in Whitewater. If I'm a Warhawk fan, I'll be happy going 2-1 down that stretch.

Also, to make things a bit easier, we know where the 1st round games are officially going to be. So for those 4 teams, at the very least they will have one more home game after Senior Day/Night.

The WARHAWKS started very poorly trailing by 13 points, 20-7 half way through the first half and were only 2/18 from the floor and trailing by 10 with about 5 1/2 minutes remaining in the half.  But Goodwin drilled the first of his 8 three-pointers and the team got rolling not only erasing the deficit but streaking to an 11 point half time lead, 40-29, as well.  Stout got within eight a couple of times early in the second half but never seriously threatened and the lead grew to as many as 25 before the game ended with the score 83-61.

Playing with a single basketball Kevin Koski tied a career high with 10 of the team's 19 assists.  65% of team's baskets were assisted.    Goodwin finished with 33 points and moved into sixth place in team history with 8 three pointers dispatching Coach Miller and others to seventh.  Corey Vernon had a career high 22 points and Myles McKay also hit double figures with 10 points.

Vernon has turned it up a notch or two since Perry went down.  He's really starting to show the potential he's had.

I hope that changes. Eau Claire presents matchup problems for Oshkosh, as we have seen this year. I'd almost rather get the toughest matchup for UWO – Skemp and shooters – out of the way first than face Gibbons and Beyer in the opener.

OshDude, are you kidding me?

Let's look at the results: Oshkosh got absolutely beatdown both times they played Platteville, and that was before Skemp started to assert himself even more lately.

And I realize they eeked by EC, they did beat them and match up better with them than they do Platteville.

To think playing Platteville instead of EC first is ludicrous.
Don't give up. Don't ever give up.

Mr. Downtown

I'm sure that no Titan fan wants to see Oshkosh play Eau Claire or Platteville again.

I honestly think the top is going to be shuffled quite a bit in this next week and half. Who knows, maybe Point will steal the conference crown at the end.

I just listened to Pat Miller's interview from Hoopsville last Sunday.  Class guy, classy program... it's worth the listen IMO.

The only time I thought WW might come crashing down is when they lost Rob Perry.  Obviously, that hasn't been the case and with Goodwin coming on strong and Vernon/King doing more than respectable work in place of Perry, things look good for WW, except those trips to Point and Platteville and a homey to Oshkosh.  OUCH!

I'm pretty sure I'm agreeing with Titansrus.  You got blitzed by Skemp and Lohoff and won close games from Beyer and Shea.  I think I'd take my chances against Beyer and Shea (no offense, guys).

Have to beat 'em both. May as well get the toughest one out of the way.

I said almost for a reason. Of course I think PV is tougher for UWO. Sometimes getting taken literally is annoying, but I guess I deserve it because I didn't put a smiley thingy in there.

UWO can't have the PV opener anyway. Lighten up, Francis.

In a related story, I would literally rather have the Cubs win the World Series than to not make the playoffs this season.

QuoteCubs win the World Series than to not make the playoffs this season.

I would literally like the Cubs never to win the World Series, so us White Sox fans can still rub it in!  :D ;D

Losses by DIII Hoops #2 and #3 could mean Whitewater as the #2 ranked team in the nation for the next two games. Nothing like having a HUGE bullseye on your back! :D
