I could understand this...but that means when they left Saturday, they packed for Saturday night, Sunday night, Monday night, Tuesday night and Wednesday night?  Wow.  Surely they aren't packed up through Saturday?

Hotels have these rooms called laundry.    ;)

One thing that I'd wonder about is the money it's taking.  I doubt that was planned for.  Didn't somebody here say Superior only spends on it's hockey team not too long ago?

That would have been me. I've already offered to send a check to the men's basketball boosters, although it wouldn't provide a lot of help. Would WIAC provide some funding for tournaments? Or does that kick in after the team leaves the conference? This has to be pricey.

Maybe Oshkosh put them up in dorms.

Cost may be an issue, but that cost of bussing them back and forth 6+ hours on Saturday, then Monday and then on Wednesday costs a bus load as well! lol...Seriously though, if they win on Wednesday, are they heading back to Superior for a couple of days before coming to Quandt on Saturday?  ;)

Way to go Oldschool, you just jinxed your Pointers.

If Sup wins in WW, they can stay at badgerwarhawk's house and voice will do their laundry.

If I go to the game, can I get the same set up? I can bring laundry with me.

I don't feel that way at all.  Had I said that before Monday's game and La Crosse comes in and beats us after we just beat them by 27, I'd consider that a jinx.  However, after Monday's game, I'm not taking anything for granted (well, not that I really ever did).  But since Eau Claire is coming in after just beating Platteville, I'm real nervous about tomorrow's game.

I need someone from Whitewater to text or call me with game updates like Pioneer Hoops Fan did.  It was a lot of fun worrying about two games at once...really?  No, not fun at all! lol.

If you want to volunteer your services, or if someone will be at home using live stats, send me a PM or email and I'll give you my number.

See you in Point tomorrow!

It was a compelling opening round.  I listened to the LaX/Point game.  Great effort by my Eagles, but Point had too much at the end.  So, two, almost three upsets!

BTW, someone asked about whether the refs should "swallow" their whistles in postseason.  IMO, if its a foul in January, its a foul in March.  Call it.

The WIAC Commisioner was in Oshkosh for the Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday and at the Oshkosh-Superior game on Saturday. Once they found out they were playing Oshkosh, they asked if they could stay overnight and the WIAC ponied up the cash for them to stay Saturday and Sunday nights.

To the game, Oshkosh came out strong like they did on Saturday, but Superior did a great job staying in the game and made enough shots and played really good D to go up 9 at halftime.

It almost became a reversal of scenarios from Saturday w/Oshkosh almost coming back to win it. I voted for DJ in the poll because I've never seen anyone take over a game in my 4 years at Oshkosh than he did (and Capelle has taken over a few games when he was wearing the black and gold). He got the look in his eye and Superior had no answer for him. When he did miss, he would get his own rebound and put it up and get fouled (that gave Oshkosh their 1st lead of the 2nd half).

The next possession down he threw an absolute laser pass down low to DSA for a huge bucket to put Oshkosh up more. Things looked good when Oshkosh was up 4 with 43 seconds remaining. Their D was the best it was all game forcing Hill and Smith to take tough shots. Then after a semi-broken possession, Jake Smith stepped up to make a huge 3 with about 25 seconds left.

Oshkosh was able to get it inbounds and got it all the way downcourt to Greg Schrimpf right in front of Oshkosh's bench. He had DSA semi-open near the hoop, but it would have been a dangerous pass. This is where I think Oshkosh and Coach Van Dellen should have had Schrimpf keep the ball in his hands because he was their best FT shooter at 93%. But I understand why he gave it up, being he was a freshman. Then he got it JJ who had already missed 3 on the night and is only a 68% shooter on the season.

After he missed the 1st in and out, the 2nd clanked off and like Cubs said, was going for the loose ball when he fouled Culy (it was the right call like he also said). Culy's first FT barely made it in, and the 2nd was nothing but net. Oshkosh called a TO and DJ took the ball at halfcourt and drove the lane. As dominant as he was, I would have kept it in his hands, but DSA was open on the baseline. Credit Superior for really good help D to get over to him and force him to make a tough pass to DJ which turned into a TO and forced them to foul Jake Smith w/4.3 seconds left.

After he missed both, JJ came down w/the rebound and I wish Oshkosh would have had an outlet option for him that was a better 3 point shooter (even Matty even though he was 0-8 on the game), but that's tough to do w/4.3 left and he got a look, but lost it on the way up and unfortunately for him, his Titan career was over.

It was a stunned feeling at Kolf (not as much as against LAX 2 years ago on the phantom foul....I'm still bitter  :( ), but it was a weird feeling to walk away after a 1st round exit again. As an Oshkosh fan and announcer, you really feel for the team, especially the seniors. It was really a tough way out for this team, but next year is a new year and I can't wait for tip-off in November.
Don't give up. Don't ever give up.

I'm unclear on the details. Does this mean that if I go to a WIAC game the league will do my laundry for me? Or will I have to put my dirty clothes in Phoenix Rising's laundry bag in order to get the WIAC to foot the laundromat or dry cleaner's bill? ;)

I hope so.  If Superior and Eau Claire win, Superior will get a home game!

A home game in Superior; that would be rich. This weekend, UWS is hosting the indoor track meet; and the UWS women are hosting hockey playoff games. Let's make it a trifecta!

Greg, there isn't much chance of dry cleaning.  We're public institutions without gazillion dollar trusts.  ;)

Think maybe that TVD was making to comments publicly to possibly light a fire under his best player's butt?  One of those "pin up" articles, comments get made (usually by the other team), cut the article out and pin it up on the board for all to read as motivation.

Seemed to work for DJ anyway, just too bad it didn't quite get them the win.
