All you really need to know about St. Thomas is that they handed D-II, No. 3 ranked Winona State its only loss this year.  The loss by Winona (now 30-1 on the year) was only its second in its last 89 games

Good news for Point....Point beat UWL & UWRF twice and St Thomas only beat each of them once so, Point is twice as good as St. Thomas.

Kidding aside, I think anyone that plays Point is in for a tough game and on any given day we all know what can happen

birds of prey

The Whitewater/Loras matchup marks the first time the IIAC and WIAC have hooked up in the D3 tournament since Eau-Claire beat Buena Vista 82-75 in OT back in 99-2000 on their way to a near championship season.

Duhawks have four players that average in double figures and both teams match up relatively well in size, while Whitewater seems like the much quicker team.

Looks like Whitewater had a pretty weak non-conference schedule. Then again no need to really play tough teams outside the WIAC. Duhawks have wins over Chicago, North Park, and LaCrosse. Suffered a close loss on home to Wheaton, but that was the second game of the season.

Greek Tragedy

A problem for Stevens Point is that Pete Rortvedt hurt his ankle pretty bad at the end of the game against Whitewater this past weekend.  He may not be the sharp shooter he was last year, but he led the team in rebounding in the WIAC championship and his hustle, determination and heart drives the Pointers... (wow, now I sound like Coach Semling on a postgame radio show!) lol...So, depending on his availability, we'll see what happens.

Mr. Downtown

I'm working on my bracket right now and I just cannot decide between Point and Chicago right now...

The kiss of death.      ;)

who and/or what determines the bracket bies (bias)  ::)

Mr. Downtown

LOL.

Well, if that's the case, then any UAA fan won't be happy that I have three UAA teams in the Final Four.

I think it's going to be an UAA style National Championship : Washington U vs Brandies

BTW, I picked Chicago to beat Point. It's hard to pick against one of the hottest teams in the country right now, so that's why I have the Maroons.

Greek Tragedy

So, if I make it down there to Whitewater (St. Thomas might be too far for me on a Friday), can I rely on one of my Whitewater buddies to get me a ticket or two?  Or, is it going to be like two years ago where there will be plenty of tickets available (disappointing, I may add)....

I didn't hear about that. I've said it before, but Point isn't that great without P. Rortvedt. At least maybe not good enough to beat a healthy UAA champ. Pete looked almost back to his old ways the last time I saw him, too. Bummer if both of our WIAC reps go into NCAA play with stars at less than their best (or worse – out).

Point with Rortvedt and Whitewater with Perry could be special. I hope both do well without their best. That said, I too have Whitewater in the Final 4. In fact, I have WW, ahem, losing in the finals. Sorry for the double Oshkosh kiss of death, 'Hawks fans.
