Cubs,

Is Kamps the guy that transfered at the semester?  Keep me informed on this little tourney.  Of course I'm interested that Kalsow is playing, and I'd like to see the full rosters when they come out.
OS-
Kamps played at UWO from 1998-2001, and was an All WIAC selection in 2001.  He played with guys like Brad Clark and Aric Vaubel.  My guess is one of the reasons he was listed was because he is originally from Appleton, having played at Xavier if I remember right.

Camanche, Iowa?  If so, see ya there...probably with a bunch of drunken friends at the bowling alley.

big ten 2-0 so far.  power conference-no, they will never win the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.  But they will compete and get players to stay for 4 years.  Who can say that???  Mayo-Beasley, what a waiste of a college scholarship.  I agree w/ Coach Knight, let these kids go to the NBA and not waste their time in college.

NABC All District Teams are out...

Congrats to Matt Goodwin for getting "West" district player of the year.  Also, Jeff Skemp and Dan Beyer made 1st team and Hicklin for 2nd team!

Condolences extended to the family Joe Merten, a former UWEC Blugold basketball player who passed away this week. Some of the old-timers here may remember him...

Merten, 49, played for the 'Golds from 1977-81, and ranked in the top 20 all-time in scoring and top five in career assists for the school. A team MVP in 1981, he played on three conference championship teams, two of which went to the NAIA tournament in KC.

Some of his individual accomplishments as a Blugold, as noted in his obituary: He was a three-time all-conference player and made the NAIA all district team twice. In 1979 he played on the U.S. team that won the gold medal at the World University games in Mexico City... (Included on that team were players such as Kevin McHale and Andrew Toney.)

Merten was drafted by the Utah Jazz in the 10th round in 1981, was dropped, but then picked up by the Milwaukee Bucks, who made him the last cut.  He then went on to play and coach in the CBA....
