Saw in the La Crosse Tribune today that UWL signed a guard from Brookfield Central (I think).

You are correct, sir!

QuoteThe Player of the Year in the highly respected Greater Metro Conference has decided to play collegiate basketball for coach Ken Koelbl at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Cory Degner, a do-everything 6-foot-1 guard from Brookfield Central, joins Elcho's Kurt Kincaid as incoming recruits for Koelbl...

Former UW-Platteville Head Coach, Todd Landrum, is the new Head Men's Basketball Coach at St. Mary's (MN) University. His son, Kevin Landrum currently an assistant at UW-River Falls, will join his father as an assistant.

Where did you read this?  Checked the Saint Mary's website and they don't have anything posted yet?

Agreed -- there hasn't been a release yet but people on the MIAC board say it's so.

Mr. Downtown

Maybe the move for Robertson will actually give him a chance to reach his potential that he flashed two years ago as a freshman.

Or...by playing the MIAC, his stats will just inflate and it will seem that he is a better player then when he was in the WIAC.

Either way, I hope the new scenery makes Robertson happy. Which isn't that the most important thing anyways?

So what will River Falls do without him? They can't get much worse then this year...right?

Just a thought on Robertson and his sophmore year, think the slight drop in production had anything to do with the loss of Jontae Koonkaew?

Good luck to Landrum.  He always seemed like a nice guy.   His stint in Platteville was a bit rough and following Ryan would have been difficult for anyone.  I hope St Mary's works out for him.  Maybe he'll consider scheduling a few WIAC games.

Losing a true piont guard that can run the show can have a huge effect on a big man (sounds too familar)
You are only as good as the people around you.

Mr. Downtown

However you didn't show any lack of effort. Sometimes it just seemed Robertson didn't want to be on the court when facing Oshkosh.

Here's news on a Wisconsin prep headed UW-Platteville's direction:

(Scroll down a ways, it's toward the bottom of the article).

Two recruits headed to UWL, as reported in the La Crosse Tribune yesterday:

La Crescent's (Minn.)  Ian Anderson, a 6'1 forward, selected as the paper's POY, and an honorable mention all-state selection... 21.4 ppg and 6.7 rpg, leading his team to a 28-2 record and quarterfinals berth...

and Arcadia's Jordan Rumpel, a two-time AP All-State honorable mention choice.

La Crescent went to the state tournament this year.  The kid is a forward just over six feet tall, though.  apparently, Ken told him he could play a lot at 2 or 3.
