I saw the Ambassadors decades ago.  I think they are essentially a farm team for the Globetrotters.  Same schtick, same ownership.  Not as skilled.

Oh, when I saw them they played a team of local guys, former high school and college players, IIRC.

This years version of the "Dawgs" will be a variety of local citizens.  This will NOT be a team made up of former UWSP players as was the case a few years back.  I don't think that will change.

Former Milwaukee Washington standout Chris Vines has elected to transfer from Indian Hills Community College in Iowa and join the men's basketball program at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

The 6-foot-3 Vines led Washington to a runner-up finish in the Milwaukee City Conference in 2006-07 before spending last season at Indian Hills. He will have three years of eligibility at Whitewater, a perennial power among NCAA Division III schools.

"We are definitely excited about Chris joining our program," Whitewater coach Pat Miller said. "He's a little like Rob Perry where he can score inside and also play out on the perimeter. He's a competitor and an extremely good defender. He's an old-school type of player who really works on his game."

Vines is the second junior college transfer planning to join the Whitewater program as Lavontay Shaw, a 6-8 forward who played prep basketball at Milwaukee Messmer before playing last season at Central Florida Community College, is also set to join the Warhawks.

Vines and Shaw join recent high school graduates Alex Edmunds of Cedarburg and Brandon Whiteside of Wisconsin Lutheran as incoming recruits for Whitewater.

The link on the Whitewater schedule for Carroll College goes to Carroll College of Montana.  I don't think that's who they're actually playing.

WW has Carrol College as their opponent...as you said...

Carroll University (formerly, College), has Whitewater scheduled for the same Nov. 18th date on their site.

Too bad, since Carroll (MT) is one of the powerhouse programs of NAIA-1 men's basketball. Two years ago the Saints were in the NAIA-1 Final Four. No offense to the Pioneers from Waukesha, who have become one of the MWC's better programs in recent seasons under head coach Dave Schultz, but the Saints from the other Carroll would most likely give the Warhawks everything that they could handle on the hardwood, and then some. The same goes for football; the vaunted UWW football team would probably not have an easy go of it against Carroll (MT), as the Saints have won five of the last six NAIA national football titles.

Rumor going around is that Weed has decided to enroll at Oshkosh instead of Point.  Can anyone confirm this?
