A quick search shows me that Weed is listed in UWSP's on-line student directory and not in UW-O's.

My sources tell me that Kieran Weed will be attending school at UWO this fall and on the Titans BB team this year.

Not sure what to make of that news... I mean, I know there are a lot of factors that go into a college decision, and heck, I even transferred after my first year, but why commit if that wasn't the decision that he wanted to make, just to change your mind before the year even starts?  I'm going to withhold judgment until the school year actually starts, especially because he's in the directory at Point...

There's some other info out of Point.

They've got a time lapse of the refinishing of the floor, necessitated due to the new NCAA 3 point rule.

I know that it needed to be done because of the above reason... but part of me is a little sad to see the old floor go... so many great memories.

Musty be slow when a floor being redone is interesting me ;D

Watching the "redeem team" play makes me wish theese NBA guys would play like this during the season, maybe I would watch more.  Strong defense, extra pass and penetrate and kick feels a little like the WIAC (not as many three's though).

Look like Quandt is finished now.  I wish they'd take a couple shots from mid-court to show the new center court logo.

I do like the updated script on the baseline!

Personally, I won't miss the old floor.  The graphics looked like they were done in a 10th grade art class and it was way too cluttered.  Plus, it always bothered me that the spacing of the letters on the baseline was inconsistent.  I always liked the design in Berg better.  I'm realizing I pay way to much attention to the floor.

Ah, but the MEMORIES of the imperfections...!   :P

I am just being sort of nostalgic.  And I wish I had gotten some pics of the old floor before it was gone!

Don't get me wrong... I really like the new floor.  I'm hoping I'll get to see a center court shot soon too.

Bo Ryan Court had a few renovations as well.  Court needed the new 3-point line, and also markings making it Bo Ryan Court, which of course included his Herbie Hancock within a basketball.

Also new additions are new backboard, shot clock and scoreboards.  Shot Clocks now on top of the hoops, and the backboards light up evertime the buzzer sounds.  Somehow though, when ordering scoreboards...there was one ordered and installed and does not allow for triple digits.  Don't know how this happened but it did.

Oh and I almost forgot the new sound system in there.  Now we just have to see if ole Hap will stop playing Jock Jams 1 from 1992.  Many of the new guys are pushing it on the age factor for these CD's.

Obviously you took the same history course as Tommy Zalinsky (Tommy Boy) and copied his test.

Maybe they came to the realization that Platteville never scores 100 points.  On a related note, when they built the "New Darby" at Grinnell, they installed scoreboards that go to quadruple digits.  I haven't been down there, so it could be just a rumor! lol :-)

Stick with the Jock Jams (actually came out in 1995), it's way better than the racket they play now-a-days.  I like to show up to the women's Pointer games right before tip-off so I can avoid the so-called music they play as their warmup.  It's horrible.  Check that, at least upgrade to Jock Jams 4, highlighted by House of Pain's JUMP AROUND!

One of the toughest things about playing at Platteville was the location of the shot clocks.  Because they weren't in their prominent place, both teams tended to have more shot clock violations than normal (I specifically remember about 2 per game per team over the years...)

Well, we are a little busy replacing Memorial Field right now, so I'm sure we just did the minimum.

I've never seen a game at Platteville, because we always play there on Wednesday and Brian refuses to take a day off work for a game.  Maybe I'll go down myself this year.

Platteville is a great place to watch a game.  The atmosphere is always charged and their fan base really gets into it.  At least vs WHITEWATER they do.

Recently I had the occassion to meet Dave Mader who now has an agency with the same insurance company as I do and jokingly I told him that the WARHAWKS would take the BADGERS this preseason.  What followed was a conversation about Bo and Augie which led me to believe that the rivalry is a cross Bo hasn't stopped carrying.  Just a hunch because I've never discussed it with him but I suspect Augie still habors some feelings about it as well.  Of course there was time when all true WARHAWK fans despised Bo and the Pioneer but with a very few exceptions that time has passed amongest us and it's my understanding that Bo and Pat Miller are friendly.  Admittedly, for me personally, accepting Bo as the BADGER head coach took a bit of effort.   But my loyalty to the BADGERS is too strong to let something like that get in it's way.  But I have to wonder if he isn't going to really try and really nail our butts to the floor.

But I digress.

Charmax, it is worth a trip to Platteville and Williams gym to take in a game.  It's a neat experience.  I'm sure you'd enjoy it.

Pics on basketball page.

Atmosphere was pretty intense when Point was down there on the last day of the season last year...It helps when both teams are good.
