Hopefully we can gather a few more people in from the community.  Students are always into it when school is in session.

Point Special:  Only thing currently posted

The scoreboard you see here, is not the one I spoke about earlier.  I did officiate some games during their Varsity Team Tourney earlier this summer, and it is pretty impressive and almost shocking the first time you see the backboard light up.

Charmax, it is worth a trip to Platteville and Williams gym to take in a game.  It's a neat experience.  I'm sure you'd enjoy it.

Much like any other gym in the conference, I think the atmosphere is always better during the conference season when school is in session.  I think the O-Zone really makes the atmosphere a little more special, and college basketball like.  I loved playing in the WIAC, but always loved playing front of students regardless if at home or away.  Made it a lot more interesting.  I remember laughing at our O-Zone guys, and the coaches laughing during games.

I agree.  There's nothing like the atmosphere of a packed small college gym and a traditional rivalry between two good teams.

25 games on the schedule which would mean no exhibitions.

Is D3 limited to 25 games TOTAL including exhibitions?

Yes.  Conference tournament and NCAA Tournament games are the only exemptions.  Exhibitions don't count on your record, but they count as a game played.

Check Eau Claire, RF, and Superior's schedules from last year.  All played exhibition games as well as 25 regular season games.  Unless things have changed for this year, exhibition doesn't count as one of the 25 games and many schools are using it instead of a 2nd scrimmage.

Greek Tragedy

Maybe Pat or Greg can chime in on this one.

I thought it was 25 total, including exhibitions...

Looking at RF, it's 24 reg season, plus one WIAC tourney game.

Can't speak for Sup or EC... but in 2005, we had to give up one reg season game to play at Marquette.

Perhaps it has to do with a game guarantee... wouldn't count as a true exhibition without the guarantee, perhaps.

River Falls finished 9th last season and didn't make the Conf. Tournament.  Exhibition against Bemidji State (which is not listed on schedule) and 25 regular season game.

I think it was changed after point played Marquette.  Not positive though.

Looking at the bylaws, teams are allowed no more than 25 contests per season.  There are exceptions of course (conf. tourney, ncaa tourney)

The exemption works two ways found here

Hopefully that will clear it up.  That rule was effective 8/1/07.
