My sources tell me that Kieran Weed will be attending school at UWO this fall and on the Titans BB team this year.

Anyone have any updates on this, or any other WIAC stories, now that class is in session?

Nice work Inspector Gadget.  :D

Any other player news or rumors?  Anyone on campus seeing or not seeing players in the gym shooting around?

Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean he'll play for the Pointers.  With all this talk about him transfering to Oshkosh, maybe he'll do that at the break or next year...or maybe that's all it was, talk.

OshDude

Saw this Oshkosh basketball nugget today in Superior's Daily Telegram. Was previously unaware Johnson had interest in Oshkosh and vice versa.

Former Superior resident Bryan Johnson, a recent graduate of Randolph High School, has opted to attend St. Scholastica and play basketball. Johnson was a star forward with the Division 4 powerhouse Rockets and was originally believed to be attending UW-Oshkosh. At St. Scholastica, Bryan will join former Maranatha Academy standout Jesse Taylor, who is married to Bryan's sister. Johnson drew interest from a number of other schools, including some scholarship schools.

Is anyone in EC land able to verify the rumor that Ryan Shea is not playing this year?  I've heard this from multiple sources.  I'm hopeful that this is not true as EC seemed to have potentially solid team with a good mix of returners and vetereans.

Stout survivor

I don't know it he is not playing but I know that there are reasons why some don't play; senoir year of school, physical, playing time or just not on the same page as the program (some leave to sell knives).

Personaly I loved the oppertunity to play but I have had friends who did not finish and for good reasons (some bad reasons). It is easy for us who post about players and teams to say things about players and teams cause we are fans and we care.

I am not implying that this is what you were saying but just I just needed to rant a little.  Anyhoo it is fall and I am pumping up for basketball and watching the games online.  My fear is that the WIAC has not shown well in the past few years in the national tourney and I am hoping that there will be some strong teams to do so this year (GO STOUT).

So I thought maybe we could rate who has the stongest or toughest schedule.

I think without even looking at anyone else's schedule...La Crosse.

That does look tough.  I think the Winona game is only a scrimmage, though.

Didn't Trevor Stratton play for Carroll about 3-4 years ago for one season?   I always wondered what happened to him.  How much eligibility is he going to have?

Yes, he played for Carroll in the '05-'06 season, averaging over 10pts a game as a Freshman.  Don't know what happened after that.

My best guess is that he has 3 seasons of eligibility left.
