I haven't found any rosters out for this year yet. Do they wait till the week of the first game?

Teams have up to their first game to declare their 20-man rosters to the conference office. With some teams just starting practice this week, that final roster may take some time to be determined.
20 is max?
Are they allowed to amend that roster throughout the season?

UWP SID please correct me if I'm wrong.

My understanding of this rule, last year when told this by a coach, was that it is the max.  If say the team starts the season with 19 guys on the roster, they can add to get to 20.  Now if they start with 19, three games in a kid quits the team.  They can still only add 1 more player.  The kid who quit, still counts towards the roster throughout the season.

It's unlikely WW will provide any roster information until they've made their cuts.

Any noticable absentees from practices???  Any players from last year NOT playing this year for one reason or another?  I know Robertson transferred, right?

I just finished watching the WARHAWKS practice and didn't notice anyone who I expected to be returning not present.  Plus some nice looking additions, a couple of whom could contribute immediately.  We should be very competitive this year.

A few weeks ago someone posted that EC's Ryan Shea probably won't play.  Can anyone confirm?  If he is not, that could be a big loss for the Blugolds.

You are correct in all aspects Pioneer Hoops Fan. Once you reach your limit, you cannot add anyone else. It's not like a baseball farm system where you can call up someone to take the place of an injured player. The 20 you declare on your initial roster are the only 20 you can use. If you declare short of 20, then you can add someone at semester or whenever. But once someone makes that eligibility roster, he immediately counts towards your 20.

Sounds like he's playing now...Probably a lot easier to say you're not going to play in September than October.  I sure hope he plays and plays well, because I think EC can be a solid team with him.

Doesn't hurt to have Coach Rich Roginski (former Eleva-Strum Coach) helping out Gibby.  He's a class act who will bring a lot to the table.

Three WIAC teams open the season in the DIII top ten and should be competitive...Whitewater, Stevens Point, and Platteville  :D

Not sure how Point is ranked above Platteville, let alone in the Top 10.

Well, you can't blame it on Q - he said yesterday that the lone Platteville #1 vote was his! :D

I've been doing this on other boards too.  I'm an MIAA poster, so set me straight if I mess up facts.

#4 UW Whitewater loses (Perry, King, Groth)
29% of offense
29% of rebounding
27% of minutes played

#6 UW Stevens Point loses (Hicklin)
16%
9%
13%

#7 UW Platteville loses (Froiland, Gibbons, Henney)
2%
5%
5%

Unranked UW Oshkosh loses (Johnson, Johnson, Dirkmann)
18%
34%
28%

I see Platteville as the strongest WIAC team entering the season.  Also, look for Oshkosh to make some noise.

RE: UW-Oshkosh

I understand Dan Tillema a '07 Randolph graduate and transfer from D2 UM-Duluth is not going out this year.

Greg Schrimpf is hurt (knee).

Several others who were on the team last year also did not go out.
