RE: UW-Oshkosh

I understand Dan Tillema a '07 Randolph graduate and transfer from D2 UM-Duluth is not going out this year.

Greg Schrimpf is hurt (knee).

Several others who were on the team last year also did not go out.
Any of those guys named Dane, DJ, Matt, Greg or Brady?
Any idea on the severity of Schrimpf's injury?

John Gleich

If this is true, then it could be a bit of a tough year for Oshkosh.  They didn't end the year really strong last year.

I don't believe so but I don't know for sure either!

I've been doing this on other boards too.  I'm an MIAA poster, so set me straight if I mess up facts.

#4 UW Whitewater loses (Perry, King, Groth)
29% of offense
29% of rebounding
27% of minutes played

#6 UW Stevens Point loses (Hicklin)
16%
9%
13%

#7 UW Platteville loses (Froiland, Gibbons, Henney)
2%
5%
5%

Unranked UW Oshkosh loses (Johnson, Johnson, Dirkmann)
18%
34%
28%

I see Platteville as the strongest WIAC team entering the season.  Also, look for Oshkosh to make some noise.

I don't know what math you used for the whitewater loses, but whatever it was it wasn't right. Its 17%, 18%, and 17%.  So that makes a big difference when comparing those teams.  I'd say its a toss up between whitewater and platteville.  It will be a great season to watch.

The WARHAWKS played their annual Purple/White scrimmage last night with the Purple winning a hotly contested game.  I forgot the score.  The outcome was somewhat unexpected as the Purple team was primarily comprised of substitutes.  In addition to our returning players two additions who should make immediate contributions are Tyson Kingsby (PG) and Chris Vines (F).

Chris Vines the baseball pitcher? And where did Kingsby come from.

Both are JC transfers. Kingsby (Hamilton JC) was here last year but did not play.  Vines (Indian Hills JC) is new this year.  I don't think he's a baseball player.

I think Vines is a basketball player though!

Yeah, I found him. There's also a pitcher of the same name drafted in 95 who is really good, and has basketball size. Different guy though.

La Crosse has an open practice tonight.  I plan to attend at least part of it.

If I do, I'll let you guys know how they look.

Brian Carroll may post as well, if his antiquated internet connection lets him on.   :P

It did appear as though he has dribbled the ball previously.  ;)
