Pointers edge Trinity TX 71-70 in OT. Last second shot by Trinity sent it into OT where Point battled back from a 4 pt deficit to lead by 1 with 1 second left. Last second shot missed and Pointers go to 4-0. Matt Moses with 26 and Pete Rortvedt with 17 led the way. Point outrebounded by 15 :o but cut the turnovers down and won. Long break coming up before they travel to Lawrence on Dec 2nd.

buf

With that said, I will say that it looked absolutely stupid and completely ridiculous that one of the brand new scoreboards does not go to 100!  So one end read 104-69, other side 04-69.

Do you think anyone in the gym was confused about the score?  ;)

The WARHAWKS beat Lewis & Clark 76-66.  We had a 12 point lead in the first half but L&C made a run over that last five minutes to close the gap to 44-40 at half.  But L&C never got closer than seven points in the second half.  Matt Goodwin led all scorers with 26 points and Myles McKay had a double-double 18 points, 14 rebounds.  Kori Vernon added 10 points and Tyson Kingsby came off the bench to score 9 points and add 6 rebounds.  The WARHAWKS dominated the boards once again 40-28 and shot a season high 61% from the floor.

It is really impressive that McKay is leading the team in rebounds per game...as well as scoring and assists per game

I like the collection of guards the Warhawks have this year with the addition of Kingsby...he adds a defensive presence at that position that wasn't there last year....plus, Koski seemed to be worn down by the end of last year

UW Stout weekend report @ Wartburg Levick Tournament

Up 10 late and lose on buzzer 3 to Bethany Lutheran
Up 10 @ 1/2 to Rockford + lose 90-80

These 2 plus up 5 to BV @w/ 1:47 looks like finishing needs to be a  point of emphasis.

I agree, Mckay has been impressive. I was at the 1st game against Wi lutheran and watched game #2 on local tv.

Regarding Kingsby I think the opposite is true, I think he adds some offense but the game I was at he looked lost off the ball, his ball pressure was good however. And I was at all three WIAC tourney games last year and I didn't notice Koskie being worn down as a matter of fact against Point I would say the opposite was true.

What worries me about this years team is the # of tournovers so far. (65 in 4 games) They seem to have lost the structure they had last year. It is early.

We're probably going to have more turnovers that some other teams in the league because of the style of game that we play.  But I agree that we need to do what we can to reduce the number of them.

McKay has really been playing well.

I agree, more possessions per game equals more TOs, however last year we averaged 12 per game and this year 17. We played the same tempo last year, just took better care of the ball.
From what I have seen, we look a little like summer ball at times. Whoever rebounds takes off with the ball and we get out of control, as I said it's early.

La Crosse has been inconsistent this year, from what I've read.  I'll see them for the first time Tuesday night in the grudge match against Viterbo.  Brian is going to that game too, but I don't think he can currently get in to this board.

After watching the Pioneers this past weekend, came away with these two things. They score with the best of them, and they have a very experienced and solid top 7. The two things that I see as weaknesses, is are they athletic enough to hang with Whitewater, also can they play shut down D when their jumpers aren't happening. Also Mike Shaw needs to be put into the starting line up, take out Nick Allen. Both are solid players, but shaw gives you a threat from outside anywhere.

Falcons beat North Central (MN), 71-47. Aaron Anderson, freshman from Stillwater, MN, led with 13, according to the radio guy.

The Radio Guy is never wrong! Haha.   ;D

And a side note.... Farmer ended with 14 boards, but 13 of those were in the first half.

After watching Mike the last few years, I personally think he plays better coming off the bench, which he has done the past two seasons.  Defensively, Nick is a better defender than Mike, so I'm sure that is why he gets the starting nod.

Probably be signed out for the next couple of days, but want to wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

Congrats to Jeff Skemp for being named this week's POTY.

Live stats show Oshkosh getting hammered by Augustana 68-46 with about 7 minutes to go.  Ouch.
