I know it has been a tough year for Lynchburg, but I cannot say I understand Coach Swickrath's decision to cut Pete Manos this week.  The leading scorer and rebounder, Manos was not only an important member of the team, but also a competitive and well-liked kid among the players.  Unless the team starts winning soon, this could be the final straw for a coach with a career 20-42 record.  I suppose we'll have to stay tuned...

SAY WHAT??

>, did you know that and withhold that information from the board?

My "lawyer" has advised me that it would be best for me to never speak about this matter.

"Low" scoring affair here in Lynchburg. LC is up 43-42 at the half.

Randolph-Macon escapes again, 68-63.  The emus had a two point lead with about two minutes to go but the poise of the Jackets again got them through.

Manos - isn't on the Lynchburg roster. Was  there some kind of implosion after his 0-fer against HSC? That's an interesting move to cut the ODAC's  current season 10th leading scorer. Come on somebody knows something? Is it a  team chemistry thing or is it a coach 'putting his foot down'?
If you make every game a life and death proposition, you're going to have problems. For one thing, you'll be dead a lot. Dean Smith

Big win for LC today. Defense was great in holding E&H to only 82 points. We dominated nearly the whole second half. We let them cut our lead to only 5 points late in the game then we put them on lockdown. I haven't seen so many missed shots in my life! It was ugly watching E&H on offense, and defense too for that matter! The way they play isnt much higher than semi-organized street ball. I know Bob Johnson has to know a million times more about basketball than I do, but I just don't see how this style gives them a better chance to win games.

Kudos to the Hornets on a big win today.  15 points is quite a margin!  What happened to the Wasps?

And another solid win for the Yellow Jackets!

(Gee, with Hornets, Wasps, and Yellow Jackets, all that we need in the ODAC is Bubblebees ...)

Brandon Adair erased any speculation about the timing of his return by scoring 25 points to lead the Marlins to a 108-89 victory over North Carolina Wesleyan.

They couldnt make any shots, they took shots that are a disgrace to basketball, and we limited the amount of shots they could get by controlling the pace of the game. They also don't play good D either. we were getting to the hoop at will in the second half, just straight dominating them when we were on offense.

The "greater than" symbol ">" is a nice touch.  In fact, from a Public Relations point of view, I recommend you just go by ">."  You know, kind of like ">, the poster formerly known as Scottie Too Hottie".  It makes a bold statement!  :)

If you come up with more ideas like that, we may have to replace "hasanova" with "hasabenz".   ;)

Along your line of thinking, I came up another symbol that would fit the artist "scottie, a.k.a. >".  How about the symbol for infinity, the sideways 8?

I had considered traveling to Lynchburg this afternoon to watch the E&H game, but I've decided to stay home and install a toilet in the downstairs bathroom instead.  I'm afraid there might be a violent scene at Turner gym as ">" tries to stop 3sdown from ripping down the ODAC track & field championship banners hanging on the walls.   :)
jelo - Thank you.  "hasabenz" sounds good.  :)  I see > took the bait - er, I mean advice - and actually changed his moniker.  I love influencing impressionable young minds one mathematical symbol at a time.  lol

Congratulations to LC for their basketball win today.  If the posts I read are on the mark, I'm pretty sure the Hornets did not play "Manos"-on-man defense today.

There are five national championship banners in Ragan-Brown.  Next time I'm over there, I think I'll double-check to make sure nothing happened last week when LC came to town!

VWC up-ends NCW again 108-89.  Welcome back Brandon Adair w/ 25 points and only played the first 10 minutes of the second half.  Balenga must have kept his head on today as he scored 18.  Tyler Fantin pulled in a double double with 14 and 11 boards.  VWC shot 61% from the floor and 9 for 17 from behind the arc.  I think things are starting to come together a little bit, hence the little, down here in the fish tank.
