Jeremy,

I don't know which team you meant to write, but HSC does not have a game today so they cannot have the halftime score you posted.

donho

He means RMC. RMC just beat Lebanon Valley to start the year off at 4-0. The game today was at LVC. They took the time  to retire Coach Byers' number (23) at LVC this weekend.Yup hanging in the rafters !! Nice career J.D. nice career !!

You are correct. They have now made the change on the scoreboard.

This years EMU team looks to be the best one I have ever seen wear the Royals jerseys. They have 5 or 6 players that can score 20-30 pts any given night. They should be fun to watch all year long. They blew A.U. and Wesley out of the gym. They are also missing 2 freshman due to injury that should be able to make an early contribution ... Looks to be a great start to a fun season. Go ROYALS.!!!!

I expect the regular ODAC posters are too gentlemanly and diplomatic to bring this up, so I will do it. Someone was posting before the season started that a D1 transfer to EMU was too good for anyone in the ODAC to guard him. I believe his name is Martin Harrison. I checked EMU's box scores for the first four games and if I have the name correct he has played a total of 33 minutes, is 1-7 from the field, has made 4 of 6 free throws, has two rebounds, and a few assists and steals. His best game appears to have been against Lancaster Bible, which is where he made his one field goal, a three-pointer. He hasn't played against an ODAC team yet. I hope he fares better against the ODAC teams than he has in EMU's non-conference contests so far.

Thanks for the update, y_jack_lok.  +1  I'm not really trying to cast stones at Lancaster Bible, but I think it's safe to say more ungodly competition is on the way.  When ODAC play begins, then we'll see if EMU takes flight.   (and yes, all puns were absolutely intended!)  :)

They had some good 4 seed in the ODAC teams with Leonard Dow 25 years ago but this is certainly their best team over the past 25 years at least.
"satisfying for us is winning the ODAC," guard Eli Crawford told the Daily News Record.www.dnronline.com
I can't wait to see what EMU can do against Ferrum and Va. Wesleyan this week.
Bridgewater also played pretty well overall with Trawick scoring 30 and 27 points this weekend.

I'm not sure who posted that DI transfer non-sense about Martin being unguardable. But, the truth of the matter is that EMU has George Johnson that plays the point and Martin comes off the bench. He is a solid player but not all ODAC material at this point. George was FIRST TEAM ALL ODAC as a Soph. EMU has a good team, we all know the ODAC is the best in DIII, so the test will start next sat. at VWC.

Thanks hasa. If it's ok with the rest of th ODAC faithful, I will try to remember to monitor this situation about halfway through conference play and post another report.

The Fighting Emus Vs. The Fish, Saturday, November 28 in the Fish Tank will be a true test for both teams. Although the seven year series(since 2002) favors the Marlins, 11 and 3 against EMU both home and away, the home record is 5 and 2 vs. at EMU, 6 and 1. Everyone remembers that EMU beat the Fish twice last year, 70 to 63 at home and 83 to 72(OT) at EMU. I look forward to this one.

I posted it and still standby it...Martin is doing what he needs for the team to win in whatever time Coach Dean gives him..whether it be 5 or 15 min..he dishes, gets steals, plays D and does not turn the ball over!!,in the little time his a/to ratio is 3:1!! But its hard to have an impact with inconsistent minutes..and its not his fault the guys playing in front of him are playing GREAT!! Who are you going to take minutes from?? No one at this point..the formula is working, regardless of indivdual talent the team trumps it, but its a long season and its early....In my family its about wins, not individual stats, when he plays over 20 min, then we will talk..... at the end of the day the ROYALS ARE 4-0 and as I told you before are going to be a force this year!!!

It must be that his own teamates, who are ODAC players, are able to guard him, or wouldn't he be playing a lot more?

y_jack_lok,
I know,I know I also am confused. In a post on Oct.27th we were told NO ONE IN THE ODAC CAN GUARD!! Well I guess they don't have to if he is watching most of the game.
But I get it. He will start to show his stuff only when the TEAM needs his D-1 talent.

Maybe he's still learning to adjust to the slow pace of the DIII game.
