I do not understand the reasoning behind the self-imposed exile unless it is being unjustly forced upon STH and he is being coerced. While STH does tend to expound occasionally I do not think it merits expulsion. I respond frequently. Does that qualify me for a month-long ban?

diehardfan,
But I DID email Pat and asked him to block me from logging in or something like that until the beginning of October.

Yes, that's a real poll that I posted.

Yes, I realize this... but it doesn't make this whole thing any less bizarre, does it?  :D :o ??? ::) :P

I am glad you're going with "B" Scottie... cultivating the discipline it takes to avoid gluttony in anything you do is very important life skill.  ;)

There I did it! I broke the tie.  It needs to be self imposed.

And, Scottie, don't worry about the board:

I'm sure April and I are CHATty enough to keep it from going dormant!

(April, I trust you did catch the CHAT hint in there - many of us miss you!  BTW, my dog's offer still stands: ditch that 'hostile and abusive' thunder, and the syllogism disappears!)

More Bridgewater recruiting news...and a little on EMU as well. Ballhandling the Eagles need and it appears they may have gotten some. Good sized D-3 guard may just be a nice compliment for Michael and Fox!

Scottie...it doesn't matter! Stay on the board...go away from the board WHO CARES! The sun came up this morning!

Good to see the names my source had seemed to be correct.  The DNR article mentions the three new players.  However, my understanding was that the guy from Strasburg is coming from a JUCO.

Steely - I think the Eagles are going to be contenders this year. It's Clay's year to make it or break it and make everyone around him and himself look good.

JWW...I don't know a lot but I do know that Bill Leatherman gets as much out of his squad as any coach in the ODAC year in and year out. No doubt graduation hit the Eagles hard last season, but a solid nucleus returns and the recruiting has been very solid. Clay Michael should have a terrific Senior season. No doubt he is a POY candidate! Both Zach Butler (3.2ppg/3.4rpg/31 assists in 26 games with 8 starts) and Dan Cunningham (2.7rpg /55%FG in 25 games) should improve on those numbers. Their playing time should increase and Cunningham in particular gave the Eagles a late season lift with his play. Josh Fox's arrival will certainly help, giving the Eagles 4 solid frontcourt players with good size. Guard Josh Maupin will step into his own this season. Playing behind 3 Seniors last year, Josh's role was to step in and primarily give a blow to Durrette, Tarkington and Easterling. He still found time to shoot 37% from 3-land and was a 90%FT shooter. He got 15 starts and will be a dangerous weapon. Jeremy Hopper will also benefit from more floor time. Jeremy shot 42% from 3-land was a 77%FT shooter and handed out 34 assists while avergaing 6.8 points a game. The Cathlin kid will only bolster depth in the backcourt.
It will be dog fight as usual in the ODAC but Leatherman's Eagles are usually in the top 4 and it will be no different this season.

Self-imposed bans aren't that difficult.  It seems that several of the regular posters in this room (myself included) have so opted this summer.

Mr. Ypsi

But, David,

You're just a 'user', not an 'addict'!    ;D

Just thought i'd inform everyone on whats happened down here in Greensboro, starting four man Andy Sharpe, tore his ACL and broke a bone in his leg playing some pick up the other day, he is having his surgery tom at 10, if your a religious man pray for a quick recovery, if not wish him good luck...still high tentions down here, but i hope and believe that will relax itself eventually, i'm trying my best to work well with the coaches and the situation as it is down here, and i feel like things will slowly pick up, and improve once we start playing ball...god bless!!!

Just a cool ODAC note.

I was channel surfing and saw that the NBC channels were having a show about crazy sports happenings and "snipers" shot was the last one they showed.  I am assuming it was a national broadcast.

Anyone have reports on the status of Genaro Lawhorn and Marques Fitch for the 05/06 basketball season?

jeloesel

JWW,
The report from "Mr. Divac" was from Genaro.

Wouldn't you be the fellow to tell us about Marques Fitch?

jdubyadubya

Sorry, Genaro. I guess I don't pay all that much attention to all the monikers that people use on this board. I'm glad to hear that you will be back with the Quakers. And, actually Jim I am not privy to Marlins info other than hearing that Marques had surgery again. I thought someone might know how he's doing.
