Not that it is going to change everyone's picks b/c I see everyone has VWC, but the VWC vs. NNA game is at the Batten Center.

My picks:

Tuesday, December 13
NC Wesleyan @ H-SC

Friday, December 16
Newport News Apprentice @ VWC

Saturday, December 17
Ferrum @ EMU

Sunday, December 18
Lincoln @ R-MC   (see if I can guess at this one again)

Ya like where they are playing the VWC/App game really matters!! VWC will roll whether its in downtown Newport News or not!!

Playing Devil's Advocate here, and going for the upset special.

NCW
NNA
Ferrum
R-MC

Yes, I view my Jackets as underdogs against Lincoln.  Please note that I would be very happy to be wrong here.  I can handle the heat!!

Randolph-Macon moves up to #11 in the most recent D3hoops poll.  HSC moves up to #21 !!

And the Lincoln Lions, who visit Ashland this week, move up to #17.

Congrats to us. . . . I think.  Right now, I'd have to say the undefeated teams should be ranked higher than that.  Is Lincoln still undefeated?

Lincoln is 7-2 with road losses to Albright 97-96 on Nov. 22 and to Wilkes in OT last night 107-99.  After last night's loss, I would imagine the Lions might drop down some from 17th.

Whoa, did NOT know that, Hasanove.  Feel a bit better, although they cuffed us around pretty well back in November.  Most of the students will be gone for Christmas so there won't be the normal crowd.

Jacketlawyer - Not sure this will make you feel any better, but both Albright and Wilkes have good records.  Albright is 5-2 and Wilkes is 6-1.  For your future reference, you can go to the first screen in d3hoops.com, click on a region, select men or women, then access individual schools.  You can track conference standings, a school's overall record/schedule and scores of each game.

Thanks, Hasanova.  Yeah, I knew that, but have been so busy with work, I haven't had time to examine them, or even go there on the web.  I depend on people like you to keep me in line! :D

Even though those two schools have good records, we do, too, though I can only hope we play Lincoln better this time.

Hassanova et. al.,

Upon thinking long and hard about my acceptance speech, I have decided to simply point out that I correctly answered the "quiz" questions before > (the artist formerly known as STH among other things) and am therefore super intelligent since we have all seen his report card! ;D  Therefore, no acceptance speech is required and this will be the end of the conversations!

On a side note Hassanova, I, too, was a math major.  I doubled in math and history at HSC, the team that will win tonight's game.  Now I am off to listen to the game since I can't make it to Fleet tonight.

HSC defeats North Carolina Wesleyan by 5 points, after being down by 8 points at the end of the first half.  The Tigers hit only 22% of their shots in the first half but came roaring back.  Kaase had 26 points and 13 rebounds.  Jyri Laakso, a freshman, played 15 good minutes, his biggest outing so far.  The game report is available at http://www.hsc.edu/athletics/basketball/2005_06/news_releases/1213res.html

The Tigers go into the Christmas break with a 7-0 record and don't play again until their Holiday Hoops tournament on December 29-30.  Their opponents will be SUNY-Old Westbury (4-2) on the 29th, followed by Neumann (3-6) or Wheaton (Mass., 7-1) on the 30th.  A week after that, they play Bridgewater on January 7, the first of 5 ODAC games in only 9 days!

I understand -sometimes I have time to look & sometimes I don't.  :)  Good luck to the Jackets versus the Lions the second time around!
