Come on Nova, I don't want to read that garbage.  :)
I know.  Is this anything like "don't shoot the messenger?"  lol  All kidding aside, Roanoke used to beat Guilford senseless - I think once like 20 times in a row - so these things go in cycles.

EMU wins over Southern Va.    89-68. EMU was up by as many as 27 a few different times.
Here are some Efficiency Ratings

Eli Crawford 21 Efficiency rating          14pts 10 rebs
George Johnson 18 Efficiency rating   16pts 4 asst. 3 rebs.

exodacer,

stillfamily is right. There is no way EMU would want to trade the win over then #1 RMC for a win against BC. Sure Royals fans don't like to lose to BC, but that was the biggest win in program history and really put EMU on the map nationally this year! In addition, I wouldn't want to trade a BC win for any W against a opponent that is in the Top 25 (potentially Guilford or VWC).

bigrips77

let the postponements begin... both of VWC's basketball games this weekend (men vs. E&H, women @ EMU) have been ppd to dates yet to be determined.

therock

Lynchburg vs. roanoke game has been postponed to Sunday at 3 p.m.

donho

R-MC webpage states that the game tomorrow with Guilford WILL BE PLAYED AS SCHEDULED.

Brian Hamilton

HSC's website says the same thing.  HSc plays tomorrow and then again on Sunday.

donho

Hope all travelers tomorrow go safely and go prepared.

Me too!  Looks like they picked up on it in the USASAC board as well.

I'm already at the Hampton between I-95 and RMC in Ashland tonight, so I hope so!

Here's a special treat for 'nova.

Thanks!  Gosh, five years - I was sitting in my study listening on the net and I couldn't believe it.  I bet I've watched that replay 50 times and it still goes in!  Tomorrow is my first trip to Crenshaw, so I'm looking forward to it.  +1 for you.

Are you kiddin' me?  Are you kiddin' me?  Jackets lose to the Generals for the first time in 50 years in Ashland.  Put a fork in this team, they're done.  No leadership, no go-to guy.  Guilford by 25 on Saturday!

Is it just me, or has anyone realized how poorly the Jackets have played without DC?

I don't know .... I saw the Jackets play against Hampden-Sydney in Fleet and they were well-behaved, which was never the case when DC was on the floor.  They came away with the win, too.

FWIW:  The Yellow Jackets' win against Wooster came with a 1-9 FG performance from Carlson, who hit only 1 for 7 from behind the arc, with 1 rebound, 0 assists, and 2 turnovers in 21 minutes of play, so his stats suggest that he was a negative factor for the Jackets in that big win.  Later, RMC beat Williams after Carlson had left the team.

A related matter, which has been brought up before .... :  Isn't it unprecedented to take a player's stats out of a team's season box score?  Whether it is or not, I think doing so distorts and makes inaccurate what is a historical record of what the team did in a season.  What's the justification for doing so?  That's my question ..... and I've reconstructed his stats from the 8 games he played, which isn't hard to do:

## Player              GP-GS  Min--Avg  FG-FGA   Pct 3FG-FGA   Pct  FT-FTA   Pct  Off Def  Tot  Avg  PF FO   A  TO Blk Stl  Pts  Avg
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
23 CARLSON, David.. 8-0  182  22.8  30-68  .441    18-45    .400  22-27   .815    3  33   36  4.5   18   0   14  17   2   5  100   12.5

He should be listed 2nd in the season box score, which is sorted by points scored, after Danny Jones and before Jordan Brown.

I agree on all points - it's not doing RMC any favors to pretend he wasn't there.
