Guilford 83 CNU 59 Final

Two words: Rhett Bonner.  Number 34 was 10 of 13 overall and 8 of 10 behind the arc.  Twenty-eight points.  Wow!  Sanborn had 16 points/17 rebounds, but, in my opinion, the game ball belongs to Bonner.  When CNU's Blasingame picked up his 2nd foul with about 4 minutes to go in the first half and went to the bench, GC made a run to blow open a close game ... I think this was a key turning point in the contest.

JCU 88 Maryville 67 Final   MC was out of this game relatively early.

Guilford and John Carroll at 7 pm Saturday.   They met last March in Ohio, so no secrets here.  The two best teams in this pod advanced - should be a good one!

Congratulations to CNU and MC on their fine seasons.

I'll start off by saying Centre is a fundamentally sound team. For what it's worth, I'm surprised they weren't receiving any votes for the Top 25. They gave EMU a very tough game.

Another impressive win by the Runnin' Royals in a game where I didn't think they played all that great. EMU had a lot of unforced turnovers, but good teams find a way to win and that's what they did tonight! Hinson was shooting well from long range, Phillips took the game over in the second half by scoring 15 of the teams 30 points, Johnson only shot the ball the entire game 3 times, yes 3, but had 6 assists, and Crawford was amazing on the boards with 10 rebounds and playing great defense in the 2nd half against Centre's best player who is 4 inches taller. A great team effort and will need another one tomorrow night against Wilmington (OH).

Lets go Jackets!! Take care of business!

Congrats to all four ODAC teams that won last night.  That is the way to represent the South Region.  Bring home another championship.

Last night was a scorching hot game for Rhett Bonner and the rest of Team Guilford.  Great D all around.   I think fouls affected the game quite a bit.  The game was even for about a quarter, then bam.

I think this game tonight against John Carroll will be much tougher going.  This bracket gets hard early.
Go Quakers!

Ron Domino

Come on ODAC, the entire South Region is rooting for you.

The Guilford livestats operator needs to be investigated for treason - he has John Carroll labeled as 'Eastern Mennonite'!  (Seems like that didn't work out so well before! ;D)

Nice compliment on Centre, but not even I, a Centre partisan, saw them anywhere near top 25. They were actually in a rebuilding year this season. They had a nice finish prior to the D3 tournament. I'd say Centre was probably in the top 40-45 by the end of the season.
