Tomorrow in the ODAC:

Emory & Henry @ Lynchburg, 1:00 PM - The Hornets should get another win.

Eastern Mennonite @ Randolph, 2:00 PM - I'm very impressed with Randolph and think this could go either way.

Roanoke @ Bridgewater, 3:00 PM - Probably a tossup, but I'm betting on Bridgewater.

Virginia Wesleyan @ Guilford, 3:00 PM - This could go either way, but how can anyone bet against the Marlins?

Randolph-Macon @ Hampden-Sydney, 7:00 PM - Last year, the Tigers lost to the Yellow Jackets by 1 point in Kirby, then won the rematch by 5 points in Crenshaw, and then were completely slaughtered by the Jackets in the Salem quarterfinals.  Crazy how that tournament game went, after a split of two closely-fought games during the regular season!  The Yellow Jackets are the favorite tomorrow, but the Tigers have played some excellent basketball at times this season and the game could certainly go either way.

Of one thing there is no doubt: This game will easily be the best-attended game of the day .... and perhaps of the entire ODAC basketball season .... in any gym.  The crowd will be big and loud.  There's a Faculty Appreciation Reception before the game, and I expect a lot of students to show up on a Saturday evening ....

i just hope there will be reason for some after game activities at Frat circle on Saturday night! ;D

Thanks Pat! You've answered my question.....

.....and that's also one NASTY place for us to play!! That student section is almost as bad as......well......OURS!!There is no quarter asked for or given by either team in this series, whether its at Crenshaw or Kirby!!...and being a saturday evening game i expect a very "tuned up " Tiger student(and Alumni) section!! ;) :D ::) :P.......This is ONE GAME TO GO TO if you've never been!! I'm not going tomorrow night but will watch it on the web......GEAUX JACKETS!!

HSC's crowd does get up haha even against little ole VWC! On a random note, I think that HSC has one of the best gyms in the ODAC... its a good gym to watch a game in, especially during the daytime with the sun shining thru those windows

donho

Anyone know when the regional ranking comes  out?

Good article in the Richmond Times-Dispatch on the R-MC-H-SC game tonite.....One of you more computer-literate types can post the link-I don't know how.... ??? :P.....and DeWayne-I wasn't trying to disrespect your Marlins,either-I'm sure the H-SC Student and Alumni section has the same (if not MORE) disdain for your team that they have for my beloved JACKETS!..... ;) :D :P.....Safe travels to ALL today....GO JACKETS!

Here's the link to the Times-Dispatch story:
http://www2.timesdispatch.com/sports/sport/2011/jan/22/TDSPORT04-wary-yellow-jackets-prepare-for-date-wit-ar-790940/

The article is fun to read, even though it has the typical Times-Dispatch point-of-view of Randolph-Macon as the "home town" team.  While I can understand that, to some extent (R-MC is 19 miles away while H-SC is 69 miles distant), I'll also note that the Times-Dispatch is the only daily newspaper widely available and delivered in the Farmville area -- it's kind of our "home town newspaper" -- and also that both Randolph-Macon and Hampden-Sydney have 5 players from the Richmond metro area.

For Randolph-Macon:
Chris Cook, FR, Lee-Davis
Chase Desgain, FR, J.R. Tucker
Adam Desgain, JR, J.R. Tucker (8.6pts/game, 46%3PCT)
Jordan Brown, SR, L.C. Bird (7.3pts, 2 steals/game)
Dylan Cole, SO, Hanover

For Hampden-Sydney:
Randall Ward, SO, John Marshall (5.7 pts/game)
Patrick Corrigan, SO, Collegiate (4.8 pts/game)
Ben Jessee, SR, Cosby (11.3 pts/game)
Ru White, JR, L.C. Bird (12.9pts, 6.1reb/game)
Fletcher Lumpkin, FR, Mills Godwin

Hampden-Sydney's Ru White and Randolph-Macon's Jordan Brown were teammates at L.C. Bird High.  Ru White was the Dominion District MVP in his senior year (2005-2006), and Jordan Brown was the district's MVP the following year when he was a senior (2006-2007).

Emory & Henry @ Lynchburg, 1:00 PM - The Hornets won, 67-53.

Eastern Mennonite @ Randolph, 2:00 PM - Randolph pulls off the upset, 64-61!

Roanoke @ Bridgewater, 3:00 PM - Bridgewater was leading, 72-66, with 10 seconds left.  But the Maroons hit a 3 at 6 seconds and then, after the timeout, stole a pass and immediately hit another 3 with 2 seconds left.  72-72, and the game's going to overtime.  88-88 after the 1st OT.  The Marlins finally get the win in double OT, 108-98.

Virginia Wesleyan @ Guilford, 3:00 PM - Quakers block a last-second 3 by the Marlins, to give VWC its first loss of the season, winning by a score of 64-61.

Guilford Quakers over VW Marlins 64-61.  Josh Pittman had only 3 points, but Tobi Akinsola came up big with 26 to carry the Quakers to victory.

Sweet....

My thoughts exactly.  I was there - hotly contested throughout.  Yippee!

Watching the H-SC broadcast of the game with R-MC -- for free!! Why does R-MC charge to watch internet broadcasts of their home games? Out here in the midwest I can watch Wash U broadcasts for free. Last night I watched the NYU broadcast of their game with Wash U for free. My alma mater charges people. Might want to think of free broadcasts as a tool to enhance alumni giving.
