I'm back!  New username!  a prize to the first ODAC intellect to realize the play-on-words.

News from W&L, the transfer from the Citadel bailed out on coming to W&L.  I have heard of new frosh point guards in the mix.  More coming as I learn it.

Tim, it's too obvious, even as I was clicking onto the board I knew the last post had to be you under a new name, because of your name and your team.  :P

Speaking of the Citadel, have you ever read MY LOSING SEASON by Pat Conroy? Another favorite is TRAVEL TEAM by Mike Lupica.

just thought i'd be the one to deliver the message to the board, i am no longer playing basketball for Guilford College. after we did the hardest running i had done in 3 years at Guilford, coach called me into his office, sat me down and went on to explain he didn't want me to play. he blamed it on me missing a Friday class which is for working out, but i did no such thing. i did not simply miss the clas, i had car trouble, i called and left 4 messages on his phone alone.

while i am not in top physical conditioning i am in better condition then i was at any point and time during last years preseaon. truthfully, many of my teamates expressed to coach that they still want me on the team. i told him playing time wasn't a concern, i simply wanted to be around my team for my senior year. however i will be, like most students these days, doing a 5th year, will it be a Guilford or some other school, perhaps. i don not yet now. i have friends at other schools who are trying to get me there. this happened on Tuesday, and i came home(to my grandparents house) trying to put things together. i've been a basketball player for a long time, and it was damn good to me. its not over for me, this year i will dedicate myself to getting int he greatest shape possible, and next year i will surprise everyone.

i doubt i'll be at the games this year, because it will be really hard to watch, but for my teamates, just know that i never quit, i would never had done that, you all were worth it to me, no matter what problems i had with Mr. Palombo, true i expected him to work with me more on my desire to work, and pay for school, and do my ministry, but i never once stopped playing for him. on that court, i would have died to bring us a victory. i trully pray that you all have a great season, win yourselfs the rings you so richly desire for all you put up with, and the ring i so desired to wear with you. i love y'all, y'all know that, you know it when you called me the other night on a Tuesday and i left my house to be the DD that night, all of y'all have a place in my heart, even the freshman who ibecame close to, and who expressed there dissapointment in the fact that we won't be playing together. you know the old saying, freshman want to play, sophmores want to start, juniors want to average 20, and seniors just want to win. all i wanted from Mr. Palombo was the chance to win, fellows never let anyone take that chance from you. God Bless y'all!!!

Genaro,
I appreciate your post to keep us informed about the situation.  It must have been a hard post to make.  Maintain a positive attitude and I'm sure it will all work out the best for you and the team.  Good luck.

Chin up big fella...in the grand scheme of things this is just a blip on the radar. You have a great opportunity to impact this ball we are all spinning around on. Don't waste it! Basketball is something to do while getting the rest of your life together. Your future's so bright... 8)

Good luck Genaro! Keep us "posted" on what's happening with Mr. Divac!

Oh, pshaw, April. Not that I go out of my way to notice karma points, but you already have more than anyone else I've seen on this site.* You're clearly becoming the Kelly Clarkson of D3hoops.com.

(And, yes, this will be the first and last American Idol reference that I ever make on Posting Up.)

*Well, Pat has more points than you at the moment, but he doesn't count. After all, you have to take the Suck-Up Factor into account when assessing why people give karma points to the moderator. Not that I would know anything about being Pat's sycophant.  :D

Nuh uhh....  Ralph Turner is the highest, I believe...  and well deserved, esp since he is more than competent in both basketball and football!

Not that I believe in the eastern philosophy myself, I've been trying to figure out if the best posters are really the ones with the highest points, since that seems to be a goal of Pat's. And when I see someone, esp my HOF buddies, that don't have enough points, I try to rectify the situation whenever possible.  ;) Obviously there is someone out there who is aware that I really shouldn't have anywhere close to the highest number of points, and keeps trying to vote me down... and good for them, but it still hurts my feelings.  :'( :D

And Kelly Clarkson? Ouch! :o Lol... at least you didn't say Lindsay Lohan or some equally silly pop star who is significantly more trashy.  ::)

RMC has posted it's new roster.  With eight freshmen from as far away as Chile, Canada, Florida, and NY, Coach obviously worked hard to enroll his new recruits.  Here's the link:

I agree with Brennan Manning in that I'm pretty sure that my karma ran over my dogma.

3 weeks 'till practice starts. Where are the impact freshmen and will the Gennies be any better this year?
