Oh well. Its been common knowledge that the Generals still have some work ahead of them. I am, however, hopeful we won't have too many of these kinds of results! That being said, we can file this one with the Amherst game as "forgettable."

Congrats hasa! I bet your happy to see basketball season underway.

Thanks. Yes, I am.  Unfortunately, I'll have to skip the RMC game on Saturday due to a memorial service I have to attend. Hopefully, this will be the last home game I'll miss this season.  As I've said before, thank goodness for MBB and golf.  :)

I've run into several people who've asked me about my moniker, "hasanova".  Well, here's your answer:

^ lol, nice car & great screen name!

A talented Lynchburg team gave the Jackets all they could handle in Crenshaw last night, but Jackets cinched it 90-87 in the closing minute.

Adam Desgain had one heck of a 1st half and Andre Simon had a big 2nd half. Jackets need to clean up turnovers in order for us feel more confident, but the rebounding numbers got better last night.

Big ODAC contest this weekend v. the Quakers... GO JACKETS!!!

Thanks.  See my note to Ralph on the ODAC football forum.  I've had this 1968 model since 1969, so it's been with me a long time!  In fact, it was my car on campus when I attended Guilford!

Final 75-53 H-SC with George with 23 - started 3 new men from prior games - great bench scoring

I'm suprised by this score I would have thought Randolph would have kept it close I guess HSC is starting to find their groove

Coach Vick is still working on the best rotations with so many good players - started three guards last night so it appeared (video was down for some reason)- 9/10 players getting up to 20 minutes each with some getting double digit scoring and many rebounds in such limited time - full court pressure for entire game with the strength that they have - opposite teams will need good bench strength to keep up with constant pressure from equally good players - forwards are now into 3 point shooting too which only increases what has to be defensed - should make for a good year - two earlier losses were actaully good training and hopefully will keep them on their toes

Yeah, I used to come on every couple of years and ask "Surely your name must be haDanova by now?"  It has since become quite clear that he will keep his name 'til the day he dies! ;D

The only thing that could change that someday is if I become unable to drive it.  I have two adult sons, both of whom may want the car.  How do you decide?  Perhaps one gets the Nova and one gets simply a No.  :)

Since (to Chevy's great dismay) 'Nova' translates in Spanish as 'no go' (NOT a big selling car South of the Border! 8-)), if they p*** you off you can tell one No and the other Go (away)!

The Quakers over RMC this afternoon, 66-53.  Josh Pittman and freshman Will Freeman both with 16 points.  I was a little worried about this game, but it looks as though GC controlled it most of the way.  Keep Will Freeman on your radar - I think he might be a candidate for ODAC ROY.

I watched most of the game online until the stream went dead midway through the second half. The Jackets couldn't get anything going inside against Guilford's defense in the first half, especially after Dylan Cole got his second foul early, and the Quakers had a great shooting half, with some nice interior passes for easy buckets. The Jackets did better in the first part of the second half, especially defensively, but couldn't sustain it.

 D. Cole is only shooting the ball about four times a game, so I do not think that his second foul changed the game all that  much. Would like to see him get more touches inside ten feet but that will not happen until some other people learn better shoot selection.

Agreed about Cole. But at the moment he is about the only one the Jackets have to go to inside against teams with height. Also agreed about R-M's shot selection yesterday, but credit to the Quaker's D for some of that. Even the open shots weren't falling. I think sometimes when the opposition is playing good defense and you get an open shot it comes as a bit of a surprise and the shooter still doesn't have the best form, leading to a miss.

Here's a little tidbit I didn't know until today:  Guilford's Carson Sullivan and Randolph-Macon's Connor Sullivan are brothers.  Saturday's game at Guilford was their first intercollegiate match-up, won by GC, 66-53.
