Since it was mentioned, two students were injured in the fire this morning.  One was flown to MCV for treatment with serious but not life-threatening injuries.  Another was treated for minor burns.  Here is the link to the story. http://www.hsc.edu/News/News-Articles/Fire.html

^ Thanks for the link... everyone around the ODAC is wishing those 2 young men the best & are glad to hear that the injuries are not life threatening.

R-MC up by 12 over Roanoke with just under 12 minutes to go.

Jackets now up by 27 with around 6:00 to go.

GC & H-SC are up comfortably in their games tonight & W&L's game is too close to call.

2RMCFans

R-MC gets the win at Roanoke by 25 & both teams empty their benches.

All Croskey's points (we think) were 3's.

GO JACKETS!!

Guilford all over Randolph tonight in Greensboro with one of their best defensive efforts of the year, 67-47.  Gabriel Lowder (15) and Carson Sullivan (13) led the Quakers.  Sullivan was particularly efficient, going three for three on threes, if you will.  On multiple occasions, GC kept the Wildcats from getting off a shot before the 35-second clock expired.  RaC's offense just seemed out of kilter.  Not a lot of points from Josh Pittman tonight, but he had some spectacular assists - one in particular left the crowd ooh-ing and aah-ing after he blindly threaded the needle inside to freshman Will Freeman for a lay-up.  Kudos as well to Freeman - most freshmen would've had a Spalding impression in reverse on the side of their face as quickly as that ball came inside!

Colton Hunt and impressive freshman Zach Desgain both with 12 for Randolph.

Guilford improves to 14-5, 8-2 and Randolph drops to 7-11, 2-7.

A rematch for the Sullivan brothers in Ashland on Sunday.  Who do you root for, Mom and Dad?

HSCDad

Best road win for HSC win in a long time at 92-59 - balanced scoring with Ru White with 15 - 2 at 11 points and 4 at 8 points (including George)- large rebounding advantage to HSC - over 40 points off bench as Coach Vick played everyone and the spread kept increasing - full court defense created maybe 6-7 layups so great field goal percentage - several great inside passes for layups -couple players have physical issues but others picked up slack  - Leon Hardgrove (guard) had 8 rebounds - sad about fire at HSC football players' rooming house - prayers for the two players who were burned, one fairly badly

My thoughts and prayers with the HSC students as well.  Best wishes for their speedy recovery.

I know - I've been thinking about it.  I'd be getting home Sunday night about 10.  I was there for the GC/RMC game during the blizzard in January 2010 - me and about 75 other people the college simply let in for free.  lol  I still tip my hat to RMC for opening their cafeteria for the Guilford fans after the game - all the restaurants were closed and there was nowhere to eat.  I was staying at the Henry Clay B&B across the RR tracks.  When I was preparing to leave Sunday morning, I dropped my SUV's keys in about 18" of powdered snow next to my vehicle and it took me 45 minutes to find them before I could hit the road.  I'll never forget that trip.  :)

Sunday's RMC/GC game will be huge for the ODAC standings.  RMC will be looking for revenge, having played poorly and losing in Greensboro.  RMC has improved greatly since that game, as I'm sure GC has too, it'll be a tough game.  These two schools, along with VWC and HSC, are pulling away from the rest of the pack.  With a win, RMC might sneek into the Top 25 (currently at 30).

VWC, HSC, and RMC near or at the top of the ODAC. Has a familiar historical ring to it doesn't it??
