Wow!  I just saw the RMC/GC score and box.  Congratulations to the Yellow Jackets, but it sure looks like Guilford didn't show up today.  Oh well, put it behind you and move on.

Not sure what to say, hasanova, but it just seemed like the Jackets had all the answers today. Their defense was absolutely punishing in the 1st half & several players had very hot hands (Desgain, Croskey, Giggetts especially) but many Jackets contributed well to the offense.  It was a BIG win for a team that's really coming together at the right time, we hope.

(And maybe it was a little bit of payback for the way the Quakers have dominated the head to head in recent years!)

GC basket looked to have a lid on it in 1st half... & maybe they just got rattled early & it was too hard to recover when Jackets came out still hot after halftime.

GO JACKETS!!!

Big game Feb 8 at RMC with VWC coming to town.  If RMC can win, they tie VWC with 2 losses at the top of the conference.  If RMC loses, they fall back into the position of battling HSC and GC for the 2-4 seeds.  Going to be a fun 3 weeks to close out the season!

This was a game I had circled as a problem spot down the stretch, so my fears came true.  Whether you lose by 1 or 29, it's still a loss.  I don't think GC's as bad as the boxscore would indicate, but I guess it was just one of those days where nothing went right.  C'est la vie.  I still think the Quakers are a team to contend with in the ODAC tournament.  Again, congratulations to the Yellow Jackets - there was no doubt on this day!

So I read the responses to my scheduling post and did a little research. From what I am hearing divisions (the sane solution) will not be done. They will be pairing up "natural rivals" picking one natural rival out of a hat and then the remaing 9 teams will be split into 3 teams home and away, 3 teams road, and 3 teams home. And then cycling those 3 groups thru the different groups over the course of 3 years. I am hearing that the "natural rivals" are as follows:
W and L and Roanoke
EMU and Bwater
E and H and Guilford
Macon and Sydney
Randolph and Shennandoah
Va Wes and LC

They all make sense to me except how can Randolph and LC not be natural rivals?

This system is very flawed divisions is the way to go and you can still keep natural rivals. I mean what if in this scenario LC draws Macon as their other natural rival now they are the ONLY school to have to play Va Wes and Macon twice for 3 consectutive years?

One division: Va wes, Guilford, Eand H, Randolph, LC
Two Division: Macon, Sydney, EMU, Bwater, Noke, Shennadoah

Makes sense to me but who am I?

May I assume W&L would be in your Division One?

Evan Jackson played yesterday, and today he's not on the team, what's up with that?

Hasanova sorry I did not mean to leave out W and L yes they could be in Div 1, or switch them and Shennandoah. To be prefectly honest you could put Macon and HSC in one Guilford and Va Wes in the other and mix and match the others as you see fit. The other scenario which I have been told will happen just makes no sense.

78 - today official end of J-term.  I really have no knowledge of Mr. Jackson's status, just saying could be some relationship. Maybe he's not registered for Spring semester?

Thanks, I had that same thought given the timing.  Good luck to him, he was a local kid (Deep Run) and I like to see locals come to RMC.

How about two divisions for those with Churches, Hyphens, Ampersands and Directions (CHAD) and those with Simple Names and Places (SNAP)?  :)

CHAD Division:  EMU, E&H, HSC, RMC, VWC and W&L
SNAP Division:  BC, GC, LC, Randolph, Roanoke and SU

How about this?

TRUE VIRGINIANS: HSC, RMC, W&L, E&H, Randolph, Lynchburg
ALL OTHERS: VWC, BC, EMU, Roanoke, SU, and the Quakes

If you switch LC and RC, you'd have it right!   ;D   Touche!

Or in the ODGCAC (Old Dominion and Guilford College Athletic Conference), you would have a Virginia Division and a North Carolina Division!
