For what its worth, D3hoops has projected that Macon will get into the tourney.  See their projections on the front page.

Congratulations to the VWC Marlins.  I hope you go all the way in the NCAA's.  Here's also hoping a fine RMC team also gets a bid - realistically, I think they're the only other ODAC team with a shot.  Go ODAC!

By the way, I know this is the men's board, but congratulations to the Guilford College Quakers for winning on the women's side.  Go Quakers!  Twenty-two and six entering the NCAA tournament - not too shabby!  Hopefully, VWC and EMU will get bids as well.  This trio was clearly the top in the league this season.

^Yeah, that's a BIG win & congrats to the Guilford women on that title & good luck in the NCAAs.  Congrats to VWC for runner up in women's and men's champion!  As for Randolph, those guys have sure come a long way in a hurry.  Congrats to them, too.

We see R-MC projected to get a bid v. Carroll at Wooster.  That's a bit of a hike for the Jackets faithful so we expect to be watching baseball at home this Saturday.  But we'll be following any basketball games for sure.

GO JACKETS!!!

Pat Coleman would likely be the first to point out that what they've put up is just a projection and that RMC's actual opponent has rarely been the opponent projected by d3hoops.com.

Further, even though d3hoops and 2 esteemed "bracketologists" on the Pool C board have all projected RMC to get one of the last 4-6 bids, it is entirely possible that the NCAA committee could leave RMC out, so keep your fingers crossed and tune in to the show at 12pm.

78rmc, embarassing to me seems a bit much. Greatly dissappointing is what I would term it. Have to remember this is a very young team, that to this point has two dissappointing L's and an otherwise pretty darn good year. IMHO.

From what I understand, the following 10 teams are in contention for the last 7 bids:

St. Joseph's (L.I.)
Hobart
St. Mary's (Md.)
Lake Forest
Illinois Wesleyan
Wesleyan
Keene State
Birmingham-Southern
Randolph-Macon
Gustavus Adolphus

Looks like VWC and R-MC can face each other again somewhere down the line. Congrats to both !!  Lets go ODAC!!!
Looks like VWC gets first round bye.

If VWC and RMC face each other, it will be for the national title! There's nothing in this world that would stop me from missing that!!!

Congrats to RMC for making the field and to VWC for hosting. I'm hoping that VWC gets to face St. Mary's, since that is the team we lost to in NCAAs my senior year! That is a game many guys on the team would look forward to if they are able to win their 1st round game.

Heck DeWayne, I would walk with you to Salem from the beach!

Congratulations to both VWC and RMC.  Good luck against St. Mary's (MD)/Bethany and Capital, respectively.  Go ODAC!

St Marys knocked us out last year-What a bunch of NASTY MOUTHY FANS!I've NEVER heard 2RMCFANS complain about anybody or anything(and hardly even about our ODAC refs-and they're TERRIBLE)but they heard a lion's share of their fans crap last year. It's one thing to pull for your team but to attack the FANS of a team???? ???......that's a little over the edge and I hope the NCAA's will penalize them for it by not allowing them to host anymore. I also hope that KINGFISH and his swarming "school of pirahnas" will eat their a$$ up BUT GOOD!!We knocked them out at their place two years ago on our run to the Final Four, too- maybe that's why they were so mouthy.......Let 'em try that crap at the Batten Center-I may even ride over to watch it too!!rGo GET 'EM FISH!!
We,on the other hand, have a pretty rough draw..... We'll see if these kids wake up from the sleep they've been in and play like we've seen 'em when they're at their best!! GO JACKETS!!!.....GO FISH!!

The Yellow Jackets have a 445-mile trip to Wooster, Ohio, but their first opponent, Capital (18-9), would probably not finish among the first four in the ODAC.  They recently lost to Marietta (17-9) by 25 points and then barely squeaked through the OAC tournament to win the title against low-ranked teams who had previously upset the better teams in the conference.  It's a long trip for the Yellow Jackets, but they should still be favored to win this game.

If they win, they'll likely play #19 Wooster (20-4, with two of their losses to #17 Wittenberg).  That will be a tough one!  If the Yellow Jackets can win both games, then they'll probably travel further into the midwest for a sectional at Hope, UW-Stevens Point, Wittenberg, Washington U., or some other place in that region.

The Marlins need to beat St. Mary's or Bethany on Saturday evening in order to have a shot at hosting a sectional the following weekend.  However, they will probably travel for the March 9-10 sectional to UW-Whitewater, or possibly UW-River Falls or Wheaton (Ill.), given the geography of their bracket.

the odac is 0-3 against st mary's in the NCAA tournament with rmc vw and guilford all losing to them in the past 4 years

We got the location right and also, the general caliber of opponent (Capital 18-9 vs. Carroll 16-9). I feel pretty good about this.

We agree, 1982, and we have little doubt that the MARLINS will snap the necks of those trashy birds from St. Mary's.  Without a doubt that is the crudest group of people we'ver ever seen- they make ODAC fans (& even our students) look like angels.  They don't even have enough manners to know how to treat "guests" in their house--- and that's not just true of their students.  At least their record (or maybe it's their reputation-- they drew plenty of shame at Middlebury last year) have kept them out of hosting for this year.  GO MARLINS!!!

We're happy the Jackets get to play on.  And with a 21-6 record out of one of the nation's toughest leagues, we think they earned their bid!  Hopefully, they'll all be healthy & ready to play in Ohio this weekend.  GO JACKETS!!!!
