Unfortunately, I will NOT be able to attend the RMC/HSC game tonight in person.  Will it be broadcast on the internet?

Game available via Windows Media Link at H-SC website and via Farmville's WFLO FM 95.7  (I'd say you get decent coverage at night up to 60 miles in either direction from Farmville).

Mr. Divac,

Just a warning that HSC-RMC games usually sell out fast.  So make sure you get there before 6:30 to get a ticket.  Of course, without students back from break it may be easier this year than most to get a ticket!

No friend of Denis McCarthy would have a cheesy handle like "jacketlawyer," unless it was a no golf playing, former teaching, shyster from Lynchburg who went to Randolph-Macon because he couldn't get into Sweet Briar.

You know, it's almost criminal to have a game between the Tigers and the Jackets when the students aren't back from winter break.  Hopefully, the schedulers won't let this happen again.

Hey Tigerfan, tell us....How do you really feel about Jacketlawyer? :D

Somebody doesn't have enough to do in Blackstone. ;)

And I'll be seein' that somebody at the game tonight!!

I don't think it would hurt anything by having a lacrosse thread on this message board (seeing lax is the fourth most attended/followed sport on the Division III level after football, basketball and baseball) ... but I do think that LaxPower already does an excellent job with following lax at all levels.  Their Division III lacrosse forum is pretty popular.  Not sure how many of those posters will venture on over to www.d3sports.com/post if Pat were to start such a thread.

the ODAC and the USA South ahve signe dna agreement to host a Senior All-Star game with ODAC seniors facing off against USA South Seniors. http://www.odaconline.com/odac%20vs.%20usasouth.htm for more info.

SO the questions is, since each team has to be represented (as long as they ahve a senior), which 15 seniors will represent the ODAC??

Mr. Ypsi

I would like to invite anyone who follows NATIONAL d3 hoops to check out Posters' Poll on the Multi-Region board - we've started up such a poll (by NO means intended to compete with the REAL d3hoops.com poll - but I figure any differences in the two could prompt some lively discussions).

Tuesday, I posted the first results - alas, there were no voters from your area.  Since I've posted on this board before (and follow it regularly), and recognize several posters as quite knowledgable (now, did you think I'd be dumb enough to spell out which ones?!), I want to invite any interested voters who follow d3bb NATIONALLY to participate.

Starting this coming week I will drop the 'weighted' voting by posts - it was a pain, perhaps biased the poll, and almost everyone was in the 'twice' category anyway!  The deadline will also be changed - ballots are due by 8pm (ET) on Monday, to avoid undue influence by the real poll.  I do reserve the right to reject ballots that are overly 'homerish' (put 6 teams from the ODAC in the top 25 and you will NOT be counted!), but don't plan to exercise this option except for extreme cases.

I hope one or more of you will join us!

Go Yellow Jackets...Sounds like RMC showed up to play and HSC did not...Thought it would be a better game than it was, but I am happy with the results.  Now, on to Saturday against VWC.  THIS WIN TONIGHT MEANS NOTHING IF RMC DOES NOT WIN AT HOME AGAINST VWC!

Great Job by Marty Wilson and Andrew Price on the Broadcast.  Ya'll sounded great!

To Mr. Coleman and Hasanova--one last thing on lacrosse and I'll drop the subject.  I have tried the other boards, but they are generally more dedicated to the DI stuff, which is understandable, but lamentable.  I love the passion of the people that post here, and I can't find it anywhere else.

The ODAC has 4 teams nationally ranked, Roanoke at # 6, Lynchburg at # 8, H-S at # 16, and W&L at # 17.  These schools are good every year, and VWC and R-M have good teams once in a while ( I know R-M got 8 votes for 2006).

But having said that, back to hoops!! ;D

That's cool -- I hadn't thought it would make sense but I have definitely haven't ruled it out.

The Tigers couldn't get a shot to fall tonight, losing 61-46.  The Yellow Jacket defense was good, as usual, but the poor shooting seemed to be more than that.  They seemed to lose their composure at times.  Shooting percentage was 20% for the first half and couldn't have been over 30% for the game.

One of the real differences is what happened from behind the arc.  The Tigers were 0 for 8 in the first half, leading to a first-half deficit of 14 points.  In contrast, the Yellow Jackets were hitting regularly from behind the arc, getting 45% of their treys for the game.  And the Tigers were completely outrebounded by the Yellow Jackets, 43-29.

Bright spot for the Tigers was the play of Tyler Murray, who was all over the place, hustling as usual, and had 18 points on top of that.  Kaase had 8 but was double-teamed quite well all night.

Now the Tigers go on the road this weekend, and they'll have 2 more tough games against Roanoke and W&L.  If they can finish their 5-games-in-9-days stretch with 4 wins and 1 loss and go into next week with a 13-1 overall record, they'll have to feel pretty good about where they are as they go into the second half of the season.
