Tigers take it to Macon 66-47.  Feels so good to get that 20th win against Macon!
Careful son!! Don't crow too loudly!!.......You kicked our a$$es in our house tonight no doubt......A smart man is humble this time of year, though....... ;).....No telling who can trip you up....HeeHee

Sure there is...there's telling....Randolph.  When it's been so long with so many of those years having high hopes, one has to be elated!

Nova, I'm sure a victory over VWC on Saturday would help you to feel better.  I know it would make me feel better!  On a serious note, it sounds like GC and RaC had a very entertaining game.  What happened with LC just squeaking by against RoC?

Complete game by the Tigers tonight. Came into Crenshaw and dominated our Jackets. HSCDAD..I see what you mean by the deep rotation they were able to work on in earlier games this season. Most talented team by far in the ODAC and are playing very well together. We were not able to penetrate their defense and were held scoreless for 9 minutes in first half. The tides have turned. No longer is Va Wes, Guilford and RMC tops in the league.

Out of idle curiosity I checked the ASC board to gauge the reaction to having two teams in the South Region rankings, and was surprised to find that there has been nothing posted on that board since October 28. This board, on the other hand, has had 406 posts since then.
I always knew that football was king in the world of Texas sports, but I find it hard to believe that no one has anything to say about the success of UMHB and Concordia so far.

Congrats to the Tigers.  They completely dominated both ends & the Jackets had no answers.

Congrats to all the winners last night & good luck for the weekend.

GO JACKETS!!!

Just saw the regional rankings... 4 ODAC teams in the South rankings.  That's awesome, way to go teams.

I will be there on Saturday!  I think it'll be a tight game.

This data from last year is interesting, in looking at the chances that VWC, Guilford, Lynchburg, or
Randolph will get a Pool C bid if they win 5 straight (3 in the regular season, plus the quarters and semis of the tournament) but then lose the championship game ...

Last Year's "Bubble Teams" that DID get POOL C BIDS:
RR   TEAM                         CON.           REG/OVERALL         WL%         SOS         RvsRR
   ATL#3  St. Joseph's (LI)          SKY            21-2, 21-3         0.913         0.470          1-0
EAST#4   NYU                           UAA         19-5, 19-5         0.792         0.491          2-2
   GL#4   Ohio Wesleyan            NCAC          18-6, 19-6         0.750         0.554          3-5
   MA#3   St. Mary's (Md)            CAC              17-5,19-6        0.773       0.568        1-3
MW#5   Illinois Wesleyan           CCIW             17-6, 19-6        0.739      0.538        2-4
   NE#5   W. Connecticut              LEC          20-5, 20-5         0.800         0.568          6-3
   STH#4   Randolph-Macon        ODAC       17-4, 20-5         0.810         0.516          3-2
   WST#7   Gustavus Adolphus  MIAC          18-6, 19-6         0.750         0.517          2-1

Last Year's "Bubble Teams" that DIDN'T get POOL C BIDS:                                                RR   TEAM                    CON.         REG/OVERALL         WL%         SOS         RvsRR
ATL#4   Richard Stockton          NJAC         17-6, 18-7         0.739         0.523          1-3
EAST#6   Nazareth                        E8         17-6, 17-8         0.739         0.549          0-4
     GL#6   John Carroll                OAC          15-6, 18-6         0.714         0.499          1-1
    MA#4   Keystone                     CSAC         20-5, 20-5         0.800         0.490          0-2
     MW#6   Concordia (WI)         NATH         19-4, 20-4         0.826         0.487          1-1
   NE#7      WPI                     NEWMAC       18-6, 18-6         0.750         0.587          2-3
   STH#6   Emory                        UAA         19-5, 19-5         0.792         0.517          2-3               WST#8   Puget Sound               NWC         14-6, 19-6         0.700         0.491          3-2

With such a run, VWC would probably get a Pool C, especially with the recent win over CNU and upcoming road games at Guilford and HSC.

A Pool C seems improbable for Lynchburg and Randolph, and seemingly impossible for Guilford, given that last night's loss at Randolph is their 6th in-region loss and another would make 7.  Further, none of their remaining ODAC regular season games will help their SoS.  VWC at home doesn't help like VWC away would ... Emory and Henry at home makes things worse ... and Bridgewater away isn't any help.  Best case scenario is they'd end up 21-7,  21-7, with an SoS around .540 and 2-2 in RvsRR (wins over VWC and HSC, losses to VWC and HSC).

Enjoyed watching HSC totally dominate the Jackets last night in their house. Doesn't happen very often so you've got to enjoy the moment when it does happen. Not to be nasty but RMC just does not have anyone that can score from the outside. I've watched both games played against RMC this year and I've never seen a RMC team with less offensive punch. They play hard (as always) but just seem to be totally lost on offense. They are big and physical and if they had a couple scorers they would be very tough to beat. That said, Go Tigers !!!!

My picks for 2/9:
RMC
HSC
VWC
RC
LC
W&L

Go Marlins! :)

Ditto.  No more excuses for having a "down" year and a young team.  You won't hear that from me any more.  We were just dominated by a better squad; superior in every category.  I had to ask around but I think this was the first regular season sweep of the jackets by the Tigers since 1999-2000.  Shaver was still the coach then!
